I figured out why reddit's r/politics is such a liberal echo chamber cesspool

I created a reddit account and posted about 15 comments so far on r/politics.

My comment karma for that subreddit right now is -65 and I have only made about 15 posts. Apparently when its negative in a certain subreddit you can only post once every 10 minutes.

What happens is that the liberal hivemind violently downvotes anyone or anything that is contrary to the far left wing stance on an issue. Therefore that poster gets negative comment karma and can only post once every 10 minutes, and the left wingers who have positive comment karma for parroting the left wing platform are the only ones who can post, so it becomes a circlejerk echo chamber.

And its not like my posts are trollish or hostile in nature. For example in an article about how Texas is doing well due to low taxes and regulation all I did was post how cost of living is beneficial in Texas and showed much my apartment costs in Texas vs. California and it was downvoted.

Reddit has different demographics.

Firstly, it's not a comment section on a news site. That skews towards older, church lady folks.

Secondly, it's not a college football board based in the Southern portion of the united states. Not everybody here is from the south, or are football fans, but it is certainly skewed in that direction.

Thirdly, reddit has a pop-culture thing going which probably attracts a lot of younger and hipster types which skew left. It definitely has more young, college educated women.

Lastly, reddit doesn't care if you're an alter. Maybe conservatives create less alters? High schoolers? Hell, I don't know. It's just a different board.

yeah it's not like the procedures or systems of the board prohibit liberals from posting, unlike reddit or DU d

are there post limits based on voting on here or other such devices? other than the selectively enforced religion ban, this is a free-for-all.

Because people from the West Coast and Northern part of the US are literally fricking retarded.

Not like joking with friends retarded but trying to have a semblance of a conversation with one regarding social issues is like talking to a chia pet rock. They dont know how or why they are growing, they just know that someone else is making it happen.

ETA: And I am nowhere near a conservative. Not even close.

Well there are paid trolls all over boards like that so im not surprised. There was s huge thread on it a few weeks ago that got whacked by mods half a dozen times. It finally stuck on different boards and apparently everyone forgot about it already.

EVEN assuming your statement to be 100% factually true, it's still a massive improvement over DU or Reddit

you couldn't even get banned on reddit b/c nobody would ever see your posts unless you're part of the hive
