I feel like dems/the left are no longer in “defeat” mode post 2024, and are rejuvenated

Trump’s win threw dems into a cold wildnerness. Depression, despondency, and heavy in-fighting between progs and center left about cause of loss and way forward. Dems retreated from Twitter, poliboard, etc as they stewed over the 2024 L.

I feel like there has now been a shift. They have unified, they buried their autopsy report and have swept 2024 under rug. Their factions have unified. They have hope again. You see it on this board even. Posters who stayed away after 2024 are back or venturing here for first time, often from NOLA and BR, fired up to debate. They sense, perhaps rightfully, that we are now on defensive.

The tables have turned. We are now the ones having a civil war, mainly over foreign policy.

The dems were never going to go away easily. However, DJT missteps on some issues have not only fired them up, the missteps have given them motivation to ignore 2024 loss and not make any steps to go towards center on some hot button issues.

Ffs isn't this like the third or fourth time for this type of thread from you in the last few elections?

I read a lot of the Center Left substackers - Ezra Klein, Matthew Yglesias and Derek Thompson - and they are at war with the Democrat Socialist Left. They are losing, but it’s an ugly fight.

They’ve talked themselves into that they’re going to win the midterms. If that turns into a slap down you won’t hear from them for awhile.

Wait until SCOTUS nukes their mail-in ballot harvesting and then SAVE America gets passed immediately prior to voting beginning for the midterms.

There won't be time enough for the law to be enacted and implemented fully, so Trump steps in and deploys an EO with the same force of law to ensure Voter ID is used to verify eligibility to vote.

There won't be time for the Dems to pivot.

Unified to the prog left... Don't let these Dem primaries get you worried, it's all falling apart in November.

Good let them all become Democratic Socialist, the average voter will not vote for them...

The dems as a whole might gain some seats

But the elephant in the room that you're ignoring is that there is no leader of the party. Trump is very clearly the leader of the republican party.

There is no front runner for the dems and if they can't take the executive branch then their power is limited

There is a 100% chance that JD Vance will be the next president. There is also a 100% chance that he will be a 2 term president.

The democrats don't have anyone to run.

I don't think so, man. I can't seen them coming together like 2020. That was a freak convergence of events. The biggest problem is they just don't have anyone to rally around. Even if they can find a young, non-crazy centrist Biden type, the hardcore base will reject him.

Right now all the left has is the reflecting pool and that Trump is so sick he's about to step down.

who is the left

what is their platform

who is the undisputed leader of the Party.

when/how you answer these things will determine whether I take what you just said seriously or not

Have you ever stopped to realize that just maybe your political hunches and views are detached from reality?! Every day you have a brand new epiphany and most have been nothing more than hysteria or greatly exaggerated.

The only thing they run on right now is Anti Trump....Well that's going away in a couple years. They are going to have to come up with something to run on that resonates......All the while, they are constantly giving plenty of things for Republicans to run on not aimed at a single specific person.
