Seriously, I hear people saying he is destroying the country with his racist policies. Then I look around, and if you are honest, pretty much all he has done has been a rousing success. Best I can tell, his biggest knock is that he is blunt and a bit of a narcissist. And I turn on CNN just to see what the criticism is, and they continue to say we have lost all respect of our allies around the world...but then I listen to our allies, and they seem to love Trump.
Even many of our non-allies love what he is doing. And I know we are a partisan country...but frick's sake...at what point do people look at the accomplishments and question the talking heads? I mean CNN is a bizarre different world. Does this ever end???
I know lots of very intelligent savvy folks who are convinced Trump is destroying the country. It's fricking weird. I question if I am missing something that is so obvious to others. I dunno.
frick 'em...as far as I'm concerned, DJT is about a positive a force as this country or the world has ever seen.

I dont, as a practice, watch CNN. I'm just trying to make sense of the opposition....and CNN/MSNBC is clearly the basis of the opposition. I watch to try to figure out the psychology of the left...when it is plainly obvious our country is improving by leaps and bounds. The shite is beyond bizarre...

My dad is 67 and has never been overtly political. He loves what Trump is doing, but says Trump could have used a few days at Charm School.
I tell him Bush 43 played nice and got crucified mercilessly. He actually conceded to that, which is a miracle in and of itself if you knew my dad.

I edited and broke into paragraphs. I hope that makes it easier for you to follow...and I humbly apologize for confusing you.

Thanks in part to the corrupt leftist media, as well as their own idiocy, a lot of people are living in an echo chamber.

Progressives are Fundamentalists. He’s not only telling them their God is a phony, he’s proving it to them beyond any doubt every single day . And their cognitive dissonance forces them to either face the truth ( never ) or RAGE. So they rage ...

Because the left just wants anarchy.
Attempted border control is treason to them. THere are no countries, just corporations to them...it's just all about money.

Besides the racism angle, the Trump dislike stems from fear and weakness.
Appease appease appease.
Many Americans don't want their kids sent to fight, even if it means our downfall.
Yet, they think the American way of life will continue unabated.
Is that cognitive dissonance?

There are four groups in this country that are going to be 100% opposed to what Trump is doing.
1. Democrats. They are the opposition party. That means, that as long as Trump is president, their sole purpose in life is to prevent Trump from being re-elected in 2020. They are going to oppose everything he does and criticize it ad nauseum in the hopes that they can convince enough voters to stay home or switch sides so that a democrat candidate can retake the White House.
2. Entrenched government bureaucrats, aka The Deep State. Trump is at war with these people, and they are, likewise, at war with him to save their jobs. Trump has been attempting a massive civil service reform to restore accountability and fireability to government employees, and enhance Congressional oversight. Predictably, the current employees who are unfireable, unaccountable, and pretty much answer to no-one, don't want that. They are using every lever within their power to fight the sitting president from setting up rogue twitter accounts, to stone-walling investigations, refusing to turn-over requested documents, leaking classified information to the media, lying under oath to Congress, and even investigating members of Trump's staff clandestinely.
3. The Media. A big part of Trump's strategy was to use social media as a way to circumvent traditional media and get his message directly to the people unfiltered. The media sees this as a tremendous threat to their hegemony. The media gets its power by filtering the news in a way that creates a narrative that they can control and distribute to the people to accept. Nearly every newspaper, radio, and tv station in this country is controlled by one of only about 6 companies, many of which collude rather than compete to keep a relatively consistent narrative. They also make a ton of money off of selling ad time to political campaigns. Trump simply pulled an end-around and ran a campaign without buying hardly any air-time, saying bombastic things to trick the media into talking about him, and using twitter to by-pass the media entirely in sending out his message. They cannot allow another candidate to do what Trump did, or else they will lose all of their power to influence elections, which is the root of their prestige with, access to, and leverage over sitting political figures. Thus they're going to attack Trump incessantly in order to defeat him and discourage other potential outsiders from ever going around them again.
4. Establishment Republicans. Political parties wield influence by controlling the ladders to power. In order to get elected, one needs funding and organization. Political parties provide that to candidates they deem worthy. In order to be deemed worthy, candidates tend to have to "pay their dues" and matriculate through the system. The people who volunteer on campaigns in high school and college later run campaigns after they graduate. After running on campaigns, maybe they get a position on a party PAC or local committee. Then, they get party support to run for local office and slowly work their way up the political ladder as those with more seniority climb upwards leaving spots for the more junior members to move into. These parties then get to act as kingmakers because they essentially choose which candidates voters actually see on a ballot in a general election. The parties can throw their weight behind the candidate that put in his time and crush the upstarts who refuse to play the game. The vast majority of the time, this system gets the party's pick (or at least their close-second choice) into the general election to face the opposing party's selection. They control the process, and by that fact, the candidates themselves, mostly by convincing outsiders never to run at all because it's hopeless to think they could win.
Trump said f&%k that and used their entire system against them. He had the entire party apparatus against him and absolutely trounced the party's hand-picked candidates who had "done their time". In fact, the party's establishment were beaten so bad, that the two candidates they hated the most ended up being number 1 and 2 in delegates at the National Convention. They can't let outsiders avoid "playing the game". That would inspire more people they don't control to buck the game and start challenging their people. They risk losing control of the candidate selection process, the root of all of their power. If more people follow in Trump's foot steps and are successful at doing so, the RNC as an influential organization, becomes irrelevant. For that reason, establishment republicans who paid their dues and worked their way up to the top must destroy Trump if they want to keep their jobs and influence safe from a new generation of rabble-rousing Jacksonian populists.
