John Lewis made comments and committed actions towards the end of his life which were overtly partisan and divided us far more than they united us.

For that, I dislike the man greatly.

His courageous actions as a younger man were notable, but like John McCain, they don't insulate him from criticism of what he did later in life.

Of all the MLK entourage guys, he was probably the most agreeable. That's a heavily sliding scale though.

He was a racist. He was no better than Bull Connor. Two peas in a pod. Just different skin color.

He's was fraud and a swindler who has been lionized because he hung out with MLK. He used his position and power to enrich himself and his allies, just like Maxine Waters and Elijah Cummings.

Theres a lot of libs/progs that seem to like Che Guevara (at least, they wear t-shirts with his face on them all the time) and I suspect some Cubans still like him.

I don't and I don't think it makes me a bad person.

I feel the same way about Obama...I hate the traitorous piece of shite.

Andy Young marched with em and was the best Mayor the city has had since William Hartsfield. He was a pro business Mayor who kept multiple
businesses from leaving after his curropt, sleazy predecessor (Maynard Jackson) did his best to drive em out of the city along with most of the white people. He was also never a part of the Airport concession scams that the rest of the black power structure in town was involved with and not involved with any other curroption controversies that I know of.

Hosea was a drunk but a pretty successful business guy and unlike other of the black leaders, practiced what he preached.

This is exactly right.By all accounts she was not a nice person at all and those flight attendants detested her.

I don't recall this at all.I still remember him as having the same political beliefs as he has now.I do remember his ongoing rivalry with Neal Boortz which was pretty hilarious... they're buddies now.

He departed from MLK when he became a race-baiter in Congress.

I live here in Georgia about thirty miles ENE of Atlanta. I had no love for Lewis, nor do I think much of Hank Johnson. However, Lewis served his constituents well. He fully represented the leftist views of his district. Lewis was a symptom of the disease that has infected Atlanta and many other large cities for decades.

My prayers are with his family. I will not bring myself low enough to tromp on a man's memory while his family is going through the loss of their loved one.

However, just as Lewis refused to attend the Bush and Trump inaugurations, I refuse to attend his funeral.

The US Race Grievance Industry has produced and will continue to produce very well-off and prominent individuals.

There are whole career fields created by US corporate industry devoted to hiring RGI specialists. They conduct canned lectures and Power Point shows billed as "training" and earn a very upper-middle class salary for so doing.

It's a scam, but, then, here in 2020 USA, isn't just about EVERYTHING a scam? Why pick on the RGI grifters? They are only trying to get some before this whole shite-house collapses and sinks into the pit.

I have never liked the idea of hating someone (for just cause) while living, and then pretending to honor them when they die.

Rush Limbaugh avoided the dilemma by merely saying, "Ladies and Gentlemen, today (name of left winger) assumed room temperature."
Then he went on with the show.

Got lost and pulled off freeway, to ask directions and being used to "regular" black folk, did not think twice about where I was, or that the store I stopped at was all black. Turns out it was south side Chicago and that is when I learned how to do the "Moonwalk", at a very fast pace.

Regardless of your political beliefs....ask yourself this. Would you have had the courage to walk across that bridge?

I didn’t agree with the man politically or with his desired vision of the country, but make no mistake much of what he took part in with MLK took courage.

His inability to make a difference from a position of power and influence over the past 50 years far outweigh his crossing of that bridge. As it turns out, it was just a symbolic gesture, a spark, that allowed them do whatever they wanted in the urban areas they've controlled ever since.

If only we could get about 10 million more people to visit the Rant and read this. If you look at their stance toward abortion alone, you realize they're truly evil people.

Lewis didn't like white people. He spent most of his life UNJUSTLY accusing white people and white politicians of vile things. He used a methodology of Lies to consolidate and maintain his political power and the political power of the US Democratic Party. I challenge you to survey his congressional district and tell us about the tangible improvements that he provided with his "leadership."

I love his courage during the Civil Rights Era when the Republican Party was his friend and the Democratic Party of the South was his enemy. But we are not judged well in this life if we are virtuous during our 20s and 30s and then lack virtue for the remainder of our lives.

Some think that Lewis "redeemed his Soul" and was "Saved for all time" for his actions as a young man. I don't believe that. I believe that if you are virtuous as a young man, but lack virtue as an old man -- the judgment is that you are not virtuous. Lewis should have persisted in his virtuosity. He did not, and . . . THIS is his Eulogy. The real Eulogy. NOT the fake ones that we have recently heard.
