quote:Most all of my family has enrolled in Genesis Legacy which arranges for the body to be sent to their organization for medical uses, like, training surgeons, testing new methods, hardware (knees/shoulders/spinal parts), that sorta stuff. After the body has been used for all that it can, they cremate and send the remains back or bury them in Memphis for the family. Zero cost to the family and during the process they send very nice updates every week or 2 as to the disposition.
I fully intend to be buried without embalming.
When Dad went through the process the local funeral home tried to charge Mom and Genesis got on the phone and told them cease and desist or the State Licensing Board and AG would be the next 2 calls they made. Very good organization. They also hold an annual common service in Memphis welcoming all the families who utilized their services to get together and share so no family members have to grieve alone.
BTW, also heard of a tree huggers organization that literally plants people. Puts a tree seed inside the corpse and then both into a large flowerpot to be planted, some kinda pod thing. Pod people! Or at least Pod former People anyway.

I’m for it. It’s pretty crazy actually that one of the staples of our culture is that we dedicate the nicer areas of town to fields for burying dead bodies.
Burn or decompose the bodies in a meaningful way and move on.

Just out of curiosity, now that this topic has come up, has anyone personally prepaid/prearranged burial services or had a family member do so? How did you go about it and how did it work out?

I had heard there was a company who wants to mix ashes with cement and build a barrier reef in the gulf from MS to FL.
Think I’ll start a company where people can have their ashes mixed with cement used to build the border wall with Mexico.

Country clubs and cemeteries are the biggest wasters of prime real estate! Dead people? They don't need to be buried nowadays. Ecology, right? Ask Wang. He'll tell you. We just bought property behind the Great Wall. On the good side!

Makes more sense than putting a dead body in a 5,000 dollar casket

Is this a problem? Who cares whar people do with the empty shells after they die?
Yep.
This is the ultimate personal/private property rights issue.

Seems a more logical option than the current status quo.

It's a great idea. I hope to see every LibTard I know composting away somewhere.
Happy New Year.
