You underestimate how dumb the average American is.

Their politics is their religion. Once you comprehend this fully, it all makes sense.
In the same way Christians do not turn their backs on salvation in trying times, Democrats do NOT turn their back on their leadership regardless of outcome. Part of their belief system is the victimization of their base. When there are no personal responsibilities, the party can always blame someone else.
I'd take it a step further. Most dems are more devout at their religion than Christians.

well for one, there is no consideration. They just pull the BLUE lever. You can't get them to actually tell you why, other than it is BLUE. BLUE is best. Red, and orange, are BAD.

"inflation is global"
"crime is inner city problem, and present for decades, not the president's fault, imagine how much worse it would be if republicans slashed all those welfare benefits"

Then figure that at least half of the population is even dumber than he is.

Because republicans are causing women to die in the streets due to "outlawing" abortion.
I know plenty of nutjobs voting democrat just on that 1 topic alone.

I've got relatives in Europe that live with socialized medicine that have produced objectively bad outcomes to them, but they defend it because of two reasons, as I see it: 1) they are used to it so think it's "normal", and 2) they believe it is a moral good, regardless of the outcomes.
Democrats, in similar manner, view the Democrat party as the party of what is (or should be) "normal", for them, and they believe the Democrats are the "moral" party, because they support policies that they believe are moral goods. Because of these things, they typically don't see the correlation between Democrat policies and the economy, crime, or other social problems we have, and if they do see it, they justify those negative outcomes by ignoring them, saying they are worth the cost of doing what is morally right, or deflecting blame to someone or something else.

Because most of them are clueless to the problems at hand thanks to the mainstream media.
Our media is to blame for a lot of the ignorance. If they actually reported the news instead of gaslighting, things would different

1. Some stupid people that vote D consider the pain we are going through as a necessary step toward fixing climate change and the economy long term. (which of course is an absolutely absurd viewpoint)
2. Some stupid people that vote D think that DEI is more important than having a strong America in both security and economic means, so they continue to vote this way because inclusiveness is paramount to a just society (again, complete BS)
3. ANYONE BUT TRUMP! There is no good reason for considering him a bad man except for the all out blitz on him from every angle. (Again mostly manufactured and somewhat his inability to shut up)
4. The crime uptick is considered by progressives necessary to fix the criminal justice system, nevermind the idiots they are protecting would kill them in 0.5 seconds flat if they wanted to rob them and the fact that they are mostly dooming society to repeat offenders because of the lack of enforcement of laws
Need I go on? It's a fundamental breakdown of reality that keeps getting these idiots elected. Eventually it will spell the end of our once great country, but you cannot say that or else you are a bigot and a fascist!

Inflation is lower here than in comparable countries.
Crime is down YoY.
The real question is, given how poorly Trump crashed everything in 2020, why would anyone in their right mind consider him worth their vote?

The answer to this is actually quite simple...
They vote for Biden because...
1) ill informed
2) ignorance
3) Their interests align with Biden's policy and actions
4) combination of the above..

As long as there remain people in this country who can be manipulated and conditioned to believe they need government’s intervention in order to survive, there will be a Democratic Party.
