How soon do we get alerts notifying the country that the US has attacked Iran?

I feel like this is going to happen at some point before the 2020 election heats up. No wartime president has ever lost re-election and tensions are heating up big time between America and Iran with Iran threatening to attack our troops in Iraq and other areas of the ME. Now this morning we hear that the State Department has ordered all non-essential personnel to leave the US embassy in Iraq immediately.
I feel eerily confident that shite is about to go down soon.

There are very few things that would make me reconsider a vote for Trump, but another war in the middle east is one of them.

So if the government forces of another country attacks our forces and other interests, you wouldn't support a response? We would have to respond forcefully. The only problem with that is it runs the huge risk of turning the situation into a large war but we can't just sit on our hands and demand an apology while creating more sanctions.
If a response turns into all-out war then that's unfortunate but one we must commit to and win.

Correct. I can't vote for a democrat over Trump right now to begin with. If we go to war in the middle east, especially against Iran, how in the world could any conservative or other right-leaning American not want Trump to be in charge?

At some point, when there is nobody, among even our ostensible allies, saying they see a threat out there, you have to ask some questions.
I realize our relationships aren't what they used to be, but still...

We will do neither in that scenario.
It’ll just create an even larger geographic power vacuum for more radicals and lawlessness. Just like several other nearby countries. Not sure why this is so hard to see still.

I doubt it escalates to that point. Trump would be making a mistake by escalating the conflict unless it were in response to actual attacks by the Iranians.
