Effective rate went up 2% but we made 100K more due to a company relocation. I have to write the man a check for $8600 in a couple weeks. Sucks bad.

You paid a higher marginal tax percentage? Did your cpa say what caused this because every tax bracket was reduced if I remember correctly.

All liberals I'm sure.

Trump is amazing. Somehow he was able to make the tax cuts only benefit moderates and republicans.

Thanks to Trump we got a $4,000 swing. For the three previous years prior to 2018 we had paid in about $2,000 a year. Both retired so our income was basically the same all four years. Just mailed mine in yesterday and we're getting back $2,000 this year.

20% pass through deduction was huge for my business. It is amazing that somehow liberals seem to be the only ones claiming a bigger marginal tax rate this year

My wife does peoples' taxes each year for a little side cash. Everyone, including my household, paid less in taxes.

I showed less income after expenses than last year (got a refund last year) This year having to pay $2500. So I got screwed in this plan. A friend got hit 11k because the GOP took so many deductions away. This wasn’t a tax cut but a scam imo.

You need to look at your effective tax rates from last year to this year. Refunds are not an accurate way or a way at all to determine how it affected you. If you live in a blue state with high taxes then congratulations blame your state not the tax cut.

My effective tax rate went from 28% last year to 22% this year.
