How much longer can fired govt workers hold out with legal challenges before folding?

At some point, doesnt it become financially necessary for them to just move on and accept they aren’t getting the job back?
I assume most have enough savings to maintain legal challenges for another couple months, but we are probably at the point where many are starting to wonder if it’s time to swallow pride and enter the job market. Lost income + expensive litigation adds up quickly.
Which leads to an interesting thought experiment: let’s say that after a year+ of legal challenges, scotus rules that djt can’t fire workers.
At that point, these workers will likely be employed in new jobs. They won’t come back to their old jobs. Is SCOTUS going to force them back?

They are not the ones paying the legal bills.

They are fantasizing about back pay.

I would assume the RIF process has already started on them the correct way. They’re losing their jobs regardless. It’s just going to take a little longer and they’ll get paid for doing nothing during that time.

It's free back pay until the process plays out. Why wouldn't you do it?

They will probably get back pay if they win.

National Park Service employees got their jobs back last week with back pay.

I'm sure there is some NGO that's propping them up!

Priv
This is something I've never cared to study and never will care to read about so I will just ask.
What is their purpose? Do they walk around in Cub Scout outfits and pick up trash on the trails and stuff?

Not sure what you mean? Probational employees were fired and all were notified last week that they could have their jobs back if they wanted them and that they would get back pay.

Ones I’m familiar with are the ones that rescue boaters when stranded, lead trail crews, and maintain back country cabins in Alaska (public use cabins).

Does it not strike anyone that this tactic by the government is used all the time - just do what you want and force the regular citizen to fight you in court knowing the citizen is greatly limited while the federal govt is unlimited in its resources? The govt doesn't have to win, it just has to have more resources than you do. The govt doesn't have to be right, it just has to have more resources. Do you guys not see the irony in what's happening here?
WTF has happened to his board?

They could have been done with the first part of the RIF by now without any of the lawsuits had they just followed what was in the regulations...oh and followed chain of command
