I think you're close, but I think it will end up 1500-1800 down at the closing bell. Not a good start for sure.

I think the market is going to look like a cat trying to climb a mirror for a while.

Might not be too bad. We're assuming April 30 was a shock. If the market already assumed Easter was pie in the sky, today won't matter.

I don’t think that caused the Nikkei futures to shoot up because the Dow Jones futures are still down about 1%.

Eta: Maybe the BoJ announced something?

Something screwy is going on with the Nikkei. The futures were up but the Nikkei just opened down 9%. I have no idea what’s going on there. I quit.

Eta: Now the Nikkei is down 3.5%.

Eta2: Dow futures now down .5%.

Australia main index, ASX, IS UP 2.3% in early trading Monday.

foreclosures everywhere

This isn't going to be the problem - most mortgages are backed by FHA, VA or USDA. Mainly getting the holders to waive or suspend interest for 90 days as well as just tacking on 3 months by agreement - a "pause" button if you well.

The problem will be landlords and tenants. I think states have some degree of power to suspend evictions and a package of that might stabilize folks in their homes.

So, it being an actual crisis for the needy should be manageable.

By the time the stimulus checks hit, they're going to need another $350B to do it again.

The WWII analogy is correct - it is going to be as expensive as WWII.

I’m opportunistic. There won’t be many more chances like this in my lifetime. I’ve alread done very well from this idiocy..

Quick story...may turn into wall of text. I don’t GAF. While you girls were crying I used my unused daytrader account that I haven’t used for a decade to jump on home delivery apps. For four fricking hours. When it dropped a little, I waited...I wish I hadn’t. Still made more that 4X original investment when I got out. It went back up ...drastically.

Money is out there to be made if u know where to look. But. I made a bad decision and still made almost 24k in four hours.

I’ve made a few other short, very good hits since then. I don’t understand how so many people who consider themselves so smart are missing this.

Look for the need! This isn’t that hard.
