Watching their marching band makes me think 47 should have St Aug Marching 100 come play at the White House when Xi comes and blow his mind.

How much sleep has Trump had?

He does not sleep on airplanes.

At close to 80, he can get by with 2 hours a night for as many nights as he needs to. That is amazing.

One C17 Loadmaster that I'm aware of ... arrived a day in advance, full of vehicles. Tons of Chinese turned out to see it.

Most aligned with PRC yet would blow everyone's minds to see them perform.

I thought for sure some other support planes arrived last week sometime also in preparation for the visit, maybe some support vehicles were in that group also.

I'm sure it's a logistical feat and most vehicles need a spare also.

Elon probably brought an extra sleeping pod. Everyone has to sleep on the flight to China, or you will get jet lagged bigly.

On the flip side of what others do. Obamas docs handed out ambien like candy. Ambien can make you nutty.

No, Donald Trump generally does not sleep (or sleeps very little) on long overseas flights.

edition.cnn.com

This is backed by consistent reports from his time in office, recent statements, and accounts from staff and officials who have traveled with him on Air Force One:Trump has publicly stated this himself. In a February 2026 speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, he said he doesn’t sleep on planes—even on very long flights (up to 20 hours)—and joked that he prefers looking out the window for “missiles and enemies.”

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Staff and aides report he stays awake and active. Multiple accounts describe him holding court for hours, watching TV/news, discussing topics, and sometimes waking sleeping staff to talk during overnight legs of long trips. One source called overseas Air Force One travel “like being held captive” because he resists rest despite having a private cabin with a lie-flat bed.

edition.cnn.com

Recent confirmations (2025–2026). Officials like Secretary of State Marco Rubio have described hiding naps (e.g., “cocooning” under a blanket like a mummy) to avoid Trump noticing, noting that Trump “never sleeps on the plane” and patrols the cabin. Other reports from aides and journalists (e.g., Kaitlan Collins) echo that he sleeps even less on flights than his usual 4–5 hours per night and keeps the plane on his schedule.

katu.com

Trump has long described himself as a short sleeper who doesn’t need much rest, and this pattern holds on international travel where jet lag, long durations, and work demands amplify it. While he might occasionally take a sleeping pill or rest briefly, the overall picture from direct statements and firsthand accounts is that he remains awake and engaged far more than most people on such flights.
