Yep! Just proving my point to my neighbor about this forum.
Bunch of people will come on here and be keyboards warriors about pro sports and boycotting, etc
But won’t even put a Trump sign in their yard lol

What does one have to do with the other?

I've made a decision, personally, to no longer financially support organizations and individuals that openly state they hate me. It's irrelevant to me that I once enjoyed the sport. their actions have ruined it for me, and therefore I'm not missing anything by my stopping watching any of it. What I loved is now gone.

It would be like still waking up every Saturday morning to watch Looney Tunes and Super Friends despite the fact that they haven't been on for decades. At some point you need to grow up and move on.

I'm also not "boycotting" anything, as that implies I'm joining some movement. I honestly don't care if everyone else in the country decides to start watching twice as many games to make up for my absence. I stopped watching for me. Additionally, I'm not virtue signaling this decision. I've talked about it here because it's gotten brought up, but I've yet to even inform the guys that sit next to me in Tiger Stadium and have for the past 19 seasons that I will no longer be attending games.

As for the Trump sign, I don't do political yard signs ever for the same reason. I have no interest in advertising who I'm voting for.

And that’s your right. Good for you
I’m still watching for me. Not “not watching” for some political reason
So is that wrong?

It's only wrong if you disagree strongly with what the players and leagues are doing but do not have the intestinal fortitude to forgo watching. Put another way, if your convictions are not as strong as your interest in watching games, then by all means continue to watch games.

Like I said, I'm not trying to illicit any behavioral change by anyone. There are not enough apologies available for these guys and organizations to undo, for me, what they've done.

For me it boiled down to wants versus needs. I've loved sports my whole life and I want to be able to enjoy them. But I'd don't need them at all, so I can simply let go of them.

I'd love that, but the truth is that far too many guys in the NBA, NFL and even college ball have been SO over the top with their outright hatred and completely misplaced victim hood that it's hard to believe they don't speak for the vast majority. And if that's the case, then we're talking about an entire generation of players that essentially hate my presence at games. Oh...they like my money buying tickets and merchandise and watching on TV and enabling large TV contracts...just not ME.

And if you hear frustration in all of that, it's because I'm frustrated. I honestly feel as through the last 2 months have set race relations back 50+ years to before I was born. I sincerely felt that we were long past essentially all of the shite being complained about. To hear people talk, you'd think we were currently living in 1920 and negative progress had been made since the Civil Rights movement of the 60's...
