discouraged or depressed?

It's painful to turn on cable news either in the morning or at 5 pm...panel after panel start spewing a bunch of opinion, misleading narrative and negativity, usually about Trump.

I used to be able to listen for a good while, but now I just get so sick of it, so angry, so discouraged -so fast, I have to turn it off. Back to music or a podcast...

because it's all negative and arguing. No wonder only 50% of us vote.

I like to try to stay informed, but listening to our media is not necessarily staying informed. It's more like being indoctrinated to hate our leaders and our political foes.

Do you think things will change or is likely to get worse?

I wonder how programs like Morning Joe can be compensated for their work? I guess I am jaded, I am sure they offer some value, but it's hard for me to see it

I haven't watched morning or day-time news in about a month...my life is MUCH better. I really only watch Hannity and that's only every once and a while. News media sucks

Less than a minute. American "news" is either outright propaganda, punditry disguised as objective fact or entertainment gossip. The Fourth Estate as an adversarial entity is extinct save for a few brave souls at the Intercept and Julian Assange.

45 seconds.

I don’t understand how people can watch it consistently and stay sane.

I have not watched CNN or MSNBC in over two years. It has been longer than that since I have watched ABC, CBS or NBC news. I don't even know who their news anchors are now? Do they still have a nightly news cast?

I used to watch CNN a good bit for the laughs but it’s downright depressing now. I can hardly stomach it. It’s gotten worse just the last few months

The amount of commericals kills me. I want to throw my radio out of the fricking car. Just one ad, then another, and another...
