Nope, but it's a poster I've not seen on the OT much, so why would he suddenly play a rude? Regardless someone will get it.

I’ve been sick for a month and a half and just thought it was the flu, but I could have had it for all I know

How that relates to c-19 I have no idea. But they say we are all safe because of all the people dying from flu.

FFS, what we are saying is that the stock market doesn't tank and they don't shut down whole regions/countries because of the flu.

Even if this turns out to be somewhat more severe and somewhat more infectious, this overreaction is unwarranted.

Some of you folks are so mired in pedantry that you miss the entire argument the other side is trying to make.

NO ONE is suggesting this isn't serious. The flu kills. Pneumonia kills. Corona functions largely like the flu. There are novel complications (the impact on male testes, the obviously concentrated impact on the very old and apparently it spares the young), but the point - again - is that we don't shut down the planet's economy because of the seasonal fricking flu.

About as good a chance of getting hit in the head with a coconut

quote:

Falling coconuts kill 150 people worldwide each year, 15 times the number of fatalities attributable to sharks,” said George Burgess, Director of the University of Florida’s International Shark Attack File and a noted shark researcher.

Snopes

“The reality is that, on the list of potential dangers encountered in aquatic recreation, sharks are right at the bottom of the list,” said Burgess, who was one of three scientists participating Tuesday in a National Sea Grant College Program and NOAA Fisheries sponsored press briefing on sharks and the risks of shark attacks at the National Press Club.

I'm in Silicon Valley and in the middle of a hot spot. Easily could be me soon.

Hubby and I are trying to figure out what to do.

We are retired and fixing our house up for sale. We have 2 adult children living here.

Last night, I told him I think we should hold off on fixing up the house and go to a cabin some place remote for a few months until it gets hot.

We are both almost 60 and have asthma and hubby has hypertension. It's wonderful thinking we are high risk.

Similar to the way HIV and the mumps operate, the virus can invade a sensitive area of males (<-so hurtful, so hateful, my apologies) and cause viral orchitis, potentially leading to infertility or tumor down the line.

The overall risk remains low, but it ain't 0%.

As an airline pilot that flies all over the US and Mexico, I’d say my chances are pretty high.

Hey, I'm the one who was warning people up in here over a year ago about the Epizooti. The coronavirus is an epizooti disease. It started with animals.

I thought mumps only caused sterility if it hit during puberty. Is this thing for real causing sterility in post puberty adults or are they saying “it causes inflammation that could cause sterility”. This is the first I heard of such horrible things.

I will never know just like iI never know if I have the flu or strep or what not. I will alternate acetaminophen and ibuprofen, and drink sports drinks until I get better - just like I do with every other cold/flu-like symptom.

Well, the R0 for coronavirus is looking to be higher than your typical influenza. This particular virus seems to transfer at an alarming rate comparatively to influenza. Part of that maybe a result of the extended asymptotic period accompanied with the coronavirus.

Either way, this will all blow over in a couple months after people get bored of talking about it. The virus will still exist, but people will stop caring lol. I don’t think the U.S. will pull an Italy either. I’m interested to see how this pandemic compares to swine flu in the end.
