Thank Republicans like Reagan & Nixon for that 'fat' check you got at the end of the year . Now you wanted blame it on failed Dem policy?

Reagan greatly expanded Nixon's Eearned
Income Credit & called it "the best anti-poverty, best pro family , best job creation measure to come out of Congress".

Like the Heritage Foundation's Insurance mandates(ACA) Republican voters seem to despise GOP economic policy.

It's obvious most Southerners only vote "R" due to cultural identity than true economic policy.

I feel sorry for you.
Either you actually believe this stuff, or you think it's a funny troll stroll.
Either is pathetic.

You can say its "pathetic" all you want, or think that one stating that southerners voting republican is largely cultural is simply a troll attempt, but it's true

This is such a tin foil hat issue. Illegals are here to feed their families back in Guatemala. Do you really think they'll ever vote in numbers to mean anything?

I'm sure will happen sometime, but at the same time there are blue states that will eventuaLly go red. Sure.I can see some Blue/Purple Midwestern States turning red in the future just as Texas/Southwest may go Blue.

The party in control will always get the blame when things are going wrong so it's obvious no single party will have complete control.

You have Republicans whine about the Earned Income Credit which is quintessential GOP/Reagan policy. Individual mandate(GOP/Heritage foundation policy).

Tell the GOP to cut those villainized "Entitlements" like Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid like Bush failed miserably to do(He ran away from SS privatization quickly after strong backlash).

Southerners love their SS/Medicare/Medicaid just like everyone else , but they vote loyally with the party which despises & tries to villainize these 'entitlements'. They vote with the Party who wants to eventually end these programs. It is certainly cultural identity.

They remind me of those Sr. citizen Tea Partiers who want to cut government spending as long as it's not their SS, Medicare, Medicaid,etc.......

If the republicans get there shite together and stop rambling about alienating shite like this and put a decent candidate out there it will NEVER happen. CLINTON never won Texas.

if given the chance to vote, would they be more likely to vote for the party promising to give them more from others, in order to send back home to Guatemala, or the party who isn't promising to give them more from others?

The story of Texas turning blue has a lot of traction except from people who live here. The actual voting trend is going to other way.

I think this is like the story of the GOP's demise in general. The Dems have had a good run for a while, but it was not that long ago that the Dem party was going extinct on the national stage.

These things swing back and forth.

Colorado. Their economy was much more competitive in the 70's and 80's than now. I remember growing up there wondering what the adults were talking about when they kept saying "the Californians are going to destroy this state" - now I know.

Colorado is no Detroit - yet. But they keep enacting regulations and tax policies that drive business away and they will get there.

Just as religion has such a stronghold in the south, so too does political affiliation

There are probably many reasons why this is but it is obvious

So southerners voting republican is not at all a cultural issue? You are either playing ignorant or are living under a rock

I am aware. And said it was a cultural thing.

Is that untrue?
