Or maybe the next administration can work to depoliticize institutional science as aggressively as Obama worked to politicize it. Then we can all, including our leaders, have faith in it again.

This would be great but will take 20 years to accomplish - assuming favorable elections. In the meantime, we can elect people to represent us that have the intelligence and backbone to tell the politically-driven scientists to frick off.

I think Fauci is a political chameleon like Comey was. Remember he was very supportive of Trump and approved of Trump decisions based on his own recommendations up until the election.
The difference is that Fauci likely never gets outed without a strong, right leaning and curious media subset. Platforms like Musks Twitter, the NYP, OKeefe, and yes Truth social are vital. Consider Fauci’s culpability in the AZT scandal in the early 90’s and how that was swept under the rug by the Clintons and legacy media with virtually zero challenge.
