I'm 50. I said LIVING memory and my memory goes back.
I've seen what happens when Republicans have compromised in my lifetime. Only one half of the compromise actually occurs.
I can't say that I've ever actually seen what happens when Democrats compromise. I guess I'll need to talk to people older than me for that one.

Excuses are........well, excuses. spin is........well, spin.
Posting a "why are all of you so uncompromising" thread while you are being uncompromising is........well, it is what it is.

sorry i didn't address both sides as name callers in my OP on a site dominated by conservatives
A genuine call to find middle ground would have went something like-
“With all the name calling from both sides can we ever hope to find some middle ground?”

how excited do you get when you learn a new word to use

Go ahead. Link some examples.

And there you go. Dismissing your opponent as only having a thought because of something outside themselves(in this case Trump).
You can't help yourself. In your own fricking thread, you just did what you complain about.

OK. I'll go with your topic. Your topic was a sideways swipe at conservatives along while pretending to be a lover of middle ground.
Then, inside of 3 pages, you disregarded an opinion as nothing more than a Trump thing and not an actual thought of their own.
Basically, you've outed yourself in your own thread.
Any other fails you'd like to manage inside of say, 5 pages?

That’s rich coming from the side that calls everyone racist, sexist, xenophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, and ultimately nazi’s. I mean, how often did you hear the word “misogynistic” in normal conversation before libs started using it as a label for people that disagreed with them? Their whole failed M.O. is the belief that they can shame society and anyone into submission with name calling.

Melt.
Also its way more than "leaning". You can't tell because you're so far over there but its just about as biased as DU, just without the bannings so I consider them crazier.

The funny part is, there actually IS middle ground. I'd love to get liberals back in the game of loving free and open thought and repudiating those who seek to kill it. I know they exist because it was a core tenet as recently as the 80s. They didn't all die.
But, wherever they are, they're fricking silent these days.
Meanwhile, it's sort of hard to find middle ground with people START with the premise that I am automatically racist because I'm white and that the only way I can hold conservative opinions is because of some ism or as they claim now, because of idolizing Trump.
I consider liberals to be wrong. But, I do believe they hold their ideas sincerely. I just think they're wrong.
You can have a discussion from THAT point.
Unfortunately, liberals don't give me the same courtesy. I'm happy to talk when they do.
