She went hiking by herself on trail that she was familiar with.

She left her phone in her car.

Who doesn’t take their phone everywhere they go?

Just curious

Considering you can see the Ocean from just about everywhere, it's a valid question.

Take a banana with you while you are fishing. You might end up on the news too.

Think we found the reason.

And she lost her shoes in a flash flood...
Was she wearing flip flops on this hike?

How do you not take your phone with you?

I saw this story a few minutes ago, I think she was healing from an old ankle injury when she went on the hike.
That's what I understood from the story.
I guess they didn't check her for brain injury, at the time of the original ankle injury.

Communist health care over in Hawaii I guess.

Foot injuries look pretty bad. I guess she was immobile.

Appears to be significant edema and secondary damage to both feet and lower legs.

No, you can’t see the ocean from just about anywhere. On the Big island there’s one public hunting area that’s 100,000 acres. And you can’t see the ocean from any of it.

The Parker Ranch is one of the largest privately owned ranches in the US and believe me you could get lost for days on it.

Yep. That's a clearer image. Those look to need significant intervention with eventual grafting.

You have never been in a gulch in East Range, that is for sure.

I have ZERO idea any context on what’s going on with this story but I can say this.

I purposely don’t take my phone where I go as much as possible. It’s a distraction and I feel much more free when I leave it at the house.

Just had to chime in since you can’t seem to wrap your mind around that.
