A pre-existing condition is something that you have and cannot possibly pay to have treated but that costs healthy people pennies a year to subidize. - to save your life.

Someone else said it -- this Board is practically the home of the KKK.

Trying to cancel health care because a black baby might get a free bottle of formula -- there will not be a United States for very long on that basis.

A condition that developed before a person was insured against it.

let's say you want to change jobs.

when you leave Company A, your insurance ends. Then you can't get covered at Company B for an issue that arose during your employment with Company A.

solve that one.

People shriek SOCIALISM -- when our country is falling apart because we don't care enough -or at all - about one another.

There's nothing to solve. There's no pre-ex on group policies.

If we would cut the money out for other countries and stop stupid programs we could have national health care paid for with current or lower tax levels and end this debate.

ALS. My dad.

ETA: He passed away prior to ACA. He had the same private insurance from 1993 until he was diagnosed in 2005. Insurance company dropped him 2 months after diagnosis. He passed away within 2 years of diagnosis.

Yeah, before the ACA, if you were born with a defect then the insurance could exclude that organ/defect from from future treatment costs.

Under your case as long as a person didn't go 63 days uninsured they couldn't be denied. Cobra laws insured they could keep group coverage during time between job a and job b.

You should probably learn what healthcare and insurance actually are before you comment further.
