Was pretty liberal until my mid-twenties and the Dems went too far left, plus Jimmah was POTUS. After that, no more voting, holding liberal positions

I saw early on through my father's business dealings how corrupt the Democratic Party was in Louisiana and how they were tied to Carlos Marcellos and the southern mafia. Leave it at that. I worked as a volunteer for the Nixon campaign, Buddy Roemer campaign, Dave Treen campaign and Reagan campaign. This last presidential election I worked as a poll watcher for the county Republican party.

Well for one you simplified the reason people do not like Obama/Michelle
my reasons....
- higher taxes
- paid more in healthcare
- I was forced into healthcare

I have no issues with children eating healthier, however, the Obama's had a lot of things that cost people money

So, the majority of Americans are white; yet, we shouldn’t have a majority of representation as white?

Yeah, you would just call it congress for most of American history.

I mean that literally has NOTHING to do with following a law passed in 1965.

Another factor into my beliefs today: in my early 20’s, I became obsessed/fanatical about the history behind different political ideologies in our country’s history.

I couldn’t read enough about the Why’s and How’s of certain beliefs of mine and the failures & successes of them. And their Antithesis.

Eventually I’d like to be damn near unbeatable in a debate on my positions. Able to thwart off any style of rebuttal.

With facts, not feelings.

Edit: When using history and human nature’s documented behavior, the welfare state and wealth redistribution goes against everything that has made America what it is.

Evolved over time for sure but leaned right coming from a family that was republican but I've been open

Didn't care or vote in college in 70's. Had no clue how weak democrat Carter was til Iranians released our prisoners as soon as Reagan was sworn in. Humm, republicans have balls I thought?

Reagan was good then Bush 1.0 seemed wimpish. Then Clinton came in with a wife wanting HillaryCare and then he loved on some kid in Oval Office. That was all bad. He did side with republicans to get some good things done though. Clinton was a push for me. Bush 2.0, in retrospect, may have been a super corrupt globalist but time will tell. He's at best, a swamp king and the ain't good. Obama was all things bad no matter what color he is I don't give a dam. Socialist or Marxist idk but whatever he is bad for country overall. He's just plain bad news. Trump is trying and I hope he succeeds against the overwhelming odds against him in the swamp. God bless him and therefore, us!

So I hate both parties but see a narrow thread to save country through the good that's left in Republican Party. Democrats are unfortunately 100% corrupted now and Libertarians will never win majority and is just a utopian pipe dream for a country like ours today

Libertarians just split off republican votes and could allow the corrupt democrat party to win enough to end our country as we know it

Did you skip the section on The Homestead Act?

One of the single largest government subsidy programs ever, that settled 1.6 million homesteads throughout the west through land grants.

I voted mostly democratic mainly because I was a fricking poor college student. Now that I make a decent amount of money and have a real job I've switched to republican.

You're a pussy with no real principles

Eta. People like you shouldn't be allowed to vote.
