He is the chief executive, he has unilateral pardon power. He IS the head of the DOJ.

The same way he can "Obstruct Congress" which is one of his powers granted by the Constitution.

Because the definition of “abuse of power” is subjective and the phrase means nothing.

I assume the same manner in which he "abused his power" by with Ukraine.
Basically him drawing breath is an abuse of power.

I could certainly see how the president could do this if he tainted investigation, say, through the FISA warrant process. Maybe in order to investigate a leading presidential candidate of the other party. Something along those lines. But certainly not an expressing an opinion after the department of Justice has ruled on a case.
Why do you ask?

Technically Abuse of Power is asking someone that works for you do something that is not their job...
Like having your aircraft technician give you a blowie
Actually asking the agency to do their job is the correct use of power

Think of the sky screaming if he had pardoned him.

It is used under the FWA umbrella in the military...it actually means having an employee do "personal" shite for you, outside the scope of the job...
So a military aide taking the General's uniforms to the cleaners is NOT abuse of power, but if the General asked the aide to "soil the sheets" with him...that would be...

Oh one of the best parts of him getting re-elected is going to be some of the pardons he is going to hand out
They will absolutely lose it and there is nothing they can do about it at that point

Trump should tweet:
So Nancy, would it be abuse of power if I just go ahead and pardon Stone? Since the Constitution gives me this power, how can it be abuse of power if I simply raise the question about excessive sentencing in his case, which we all know was a witch hunt.

Except scream 'abuse of power'!
To them, the mere fact that he holds the office is 'abuse of power'.

The Dimwits have made the term "abuse of power" meaningless.

I’m sure ProggyHank will be here soon to hit us with a dank-arse ackchyually.

The only people abusing power here are the US Attorneys who submitted a sentencing recommendation that called for a sentence 3-4 times longer than the federal sentencing guidelines.

Exactly. DOJ is under the executive branch. Unless he instructs the DOJ to do something illegal or unconstitutional then he can tell the DOJ whatever he wants
