How can I become a white hispanic?

So I'm a white guy. No spanish or latin blood, no mestizo blood or anything like that. I am in Queretaro, Mexico right now and realized how much I love it here. I would really like to be a white hispanic and call this area my heritage.
How do I go about doing this? Do I just have to say I'm hispanic now? I read somewhere that you can legally mark that you're hispanic if spanish is spoken in your household. That's easy enough, I can order a beer and a taco in spanish pretty easily.
I mean, we aren't talking about skin color, I'm already white. It's just ethnicity. I thought about shooting a black kid in a nice neighborhood, but I think that only works to make you white, which I already am.
Serious suggestions appreciated, pour favor.

Go the George Zimmerman route. Be Hispanic, but let the media claim you are a white Hispanic.

George Zimmerman isn't a white Hispanic. he is a brown man with a white name.
news media put it out that he was white based on that name, never bothered to even do the most rudimentary research that would've taken 5 minutes at most and "white Hispanic" is a desperate attempt to cover how irresponsibly they report news
you can't be a white Hispanic unless you're actually a white Hispanic like Jorge ramos OR you're a brown man with a white name and you shoot a minority

5. Put large Old English-style lettering on your car's rear windshield, with your family name and home city (e.g., Granados, Houston,Tex.) and include a large farmer-style cowboy hat w/ the lettering
