For a poster who claims to “understand” tariffs you sure do know so little lol every country on the planet uses tariffs and has since they became a political tool. Your imaginary scenario about country a paying tariffs while country b doesn’t is sheer nonsense. It’s emotional drivel applied an imaginary scenario

They will go down. Automakers are gearing up for a bad year - layoffs and austerity will be the rule of the day.

Sounds like you should get some skin in the game. Buy a bunch of cars and sell them later when the price soars.

Let us know how it works out.

You aren’t speaking facts in the slightest 90% of the time

How the frick would you know?

You still think tariffs are the answer. That ideology died over 100 years ago, and you got left behind.

I'm pulling for the Orange idiots economy, I live under it too. Hes going to dump a shite load of inflation on your arse

And are struggling.

You just want to be like the Eurotrash.

Trade deficits no longer matter under the modern economy.

Wealthy nations WILL have trade deficits. You and the Orange baboon think wealth is static.

The good news is, liberals are going to build a new car.

The bad news is, 1) it can only make left turns, and 2) the horn blows non-stop every time it hears the names "Trump" or :MAGA."

You are cherry picking.

Biden raised China's tariffs on EVs, EV batteries, and solar panels for the but did it all in Sept 2024. He has another round of increases on Dec 12 2024.

So technically he did raise them, but with no more than 4 months to go in his presidency.

Biden did the same with timber from Canada. Raised it in August of 2024.

He also brought down a lot of tariffs too. European Union stuff comes to mind. He did that in 2021 (almost immediately).

The question is why didnt Biden raise all those tariffs when he entered office. Why wait until the last month/last quarter to impose higher tariffs? Was it for the same political talking point you are trying to make as "Well Biden raised tariffs" or was it for another reason??

Raising tariffs in the Q4 in the 4th year of your term really doenst mean shite.

Wrong

“Meaning that there were about $300 billion worth of tariffs introduced under the Trump administration. Most of those have been left in place after a four-year review of that policy,” Johnson said.

So what is your argument now? Your argument was that Biden raised tariffs. He technically did in the last second of this term. He cut others immediately a la European Union.

He left the China tariffs in place from Trump, and increased them in Sept and December of 2024

How does that support your argument?

He kept most of Trumps tariffs then later expanded them.

They didnt work under Trump and they didnt work under Biden.

In case youre wondering why inflation struggled to come down, both Trump and biden spent us trillions in debt and used anti consumer policies.

Well, yes and no. Putting handcuffs on cheap energy and passing the IRA were a big kick in the nuts. US energy is spending BILLIONS on avoiding or paying methane taxes. That is passed on to the consumer and goes directly into the price of everything. The tarrifs are at least aimed at getting US better deals or equally favorable trade relationships. Methane taxes are a grift to fund Democrat NGOs and rip off US citizens.

Well now that the asinine push for government funded EV is on pause for a few more years…

Those that didn’t go all in on EV can continue with ice without dumping all profits into EV shite.

Problem is, some companies didn’t keep up the R&D for new model ice engines.

Those familiar/within the automotive manufacturers understand.
