How bad is the media overplaying their hand with the outrage of the week?

Muh caged kids
Muh Russian traitor
Muh Omarosa/tapes
Going back further you can include stupid shite like "shitholes" and Fire and Fury. How does someone like a Toddy not get tired of having to act outraged on a new subject every week let alone the average voter?

i made a thread about a similar topic probably a year and a half ago...it basically asked when the voting population of the left would get tired of all the fake/overblown stories. they craft some narrative on JournoList vol 2, blast the media with it, promote conspiracy theories, get everyone with TDS buzzing, and then it's dropped in 1-2 weeks

Because if the weren't acting outraged they'd have to come face to face with their own inadequacies and lack of interesting ideas. Outrage gives them cover.

my only solace in this current outrage culture is that people eventually grow weary of it all and push back against it
this is my hope
and maybe Trump is the guy that will inadvertently move us in the right direction by pushing everything over the edge

The people are weary of the msm attacks daily on Trump.
It may be good for the left base but I think thats it.

This.
I'm 100% convinced that these SJWs have entered the real world after 4 years of wasted life getting their fine arts degrees, entered the market and realized nobody wants to hire someone who graduated in (insert worthless socioeconomic class) Studies. Being outraged over X media narrative is just their way of supplementing for their own idiotic choices.

None.
Nada.
They don’t even have a plan for the mid-terms in messaging other than “Trump bad.”

my heart says you're correct
my brain says social media and the advanced psychological manipulation used by the major media have warped too many brains
think of it like adrenaline junkies who have to go more extreme to get the dose. people have been primed for instant gratification and BOOMs/gotchas and require that. your best bet is that they lose interest in politics and their warped focus/responses go onto something else (like the Bachelor or a Kardashian show)

Interesting. My sister has a doctorate in Ancient Near Eastern studies from a prominent east coast school. She’s currently assisting in Democratic campaigns in a midwestern state with no great job prospects in sight.

this might be just me projecting my own feelings on to others, but I think a lot of people are weary of it all, the constant petty attacks on Trump, Trumps prodding the media, etc.

doesn't help their cause that people my age are notoriously horrible at showing up to the polls, either

no idea
i follow far-left groups who hate DEMs
their big message now is Medicare for all and just random anti-Nazi stuff that makes it seem like Nazis are a real threat
oh, and they're starting to do the "we need to abolish the Electoral College" stuff again

Keep playing the hand, urban hipsters.

Probably won't have any in the private sector. I can't imagine there is a high demand for Ancient Near Eastern experts. She'll end up being a college professor

She already is. A tenure track position for ANE isn’t exactly easy to find, let alone obtain.

When you get to write the narrative, you don't have to justify your coverage of events supporting the narrative you wrote.
