My problem with EBT cards is the abuse and fraud of the system. Everyone that has one should have to show an ID with each purchase PERIOD! This would prevent them from selling the cards for cash.

Why do I have to show my ID when I purchase using a credit card, but EBT cardholders do not?

I still remember one of my ex-gfs going off on a guy with a basket full of meat when he told the cashier in Arabic that he buys the meat using EBT cards and sells it in his restaurant at 100% profit. Little did he know that my ex spoke Arabic too. This is the fraud that needs to be eliminated.

Put it out for bid. Let Wal Mart and Amazon both have it. They could each bid on packaging and delivering.

Dumbest proposal in the world.
1. Give me one example of a successful gment program? There are economic reasons they can't exist.
2. We are broke

3. This will be a disaster.

4. In a truly free society friends and family are responsible for friends and family.

5. It's an extension of a communist program

6. Stop paying people to breathe

All about the feels.

I have no idea. It is not a conservative, small government idea in the least, so I would assume some have objections over that. I think it is an excellent idea, although, i still think local DCs with the recipients coming to pick up their packages would be ideal.

Distributing food would eliminate a great deal of the fraud associated with EBT, which is the only complaint I have of the program.

It should be packaged in day-glo yellow and labeled "food for the poor".

I don’t care if it is more expensive. It will stop people from trading food stamps for 50 cents on the dollar to buy swishas and drank. It will also put money laundering bindi gas station and quickie marts that depend on EBT out of business.

It's theft, why do we allow the gment to rob us. They treat our money like it's monopoly money

I'm not opposed to it.

I'd like to know more details before I decide one way or another though. Like how distribution will be done, will each home have food deliveries or will there be centers at major population centers? How many more or less people will the government have to employ to make it work?

I'd like more data before I am willing to just assume one way or another.

TBoy is right.

They are not beggars. Beggars at least do SOMETHING for the money/charity they receive (make a sign, make up a tear jerker tale, etc.). These people do nothing. They receive this $$$ by their mere existence.

The more accurate term is "leech" or "parasite."

So, the question is: Should a leech/parasite have any say in what the host feeds it?

Put it in a wheelbarrow and have a guy going up and down the streets of the projects yelling "Food for the poors. Food for the poors."

Sort of like this, but for food, not dead folks:

Wrong

A single mother of 2 can make close to $2.3k per month and still receive over $500/month in SNAP alone.

While I understand where you're coming from, welfare alone is not something anyone wants to be in. Thats the very bottom of society.

I respectfully disagree.

It has become a cottage industry for some. You can actually have a comfortable life if you maximize all the benefits.
