Sure
This just puts many who opposed neocon foreign policy and various forms of the "American empire" into a position of hypocrisy/policy 180.
The Ukraine conflict era provides a TON of record of both, for most regular posters on this board. The hemispherical argument was kind of a dishonest way to avoid this, but, as you and I just showed, it's a bullshite argument.
