Do all spending cuts and eliminating departments first
Get congress behind all of it
then move to changing tax rates/Codes and method of collections
doing both at once, we're not going to know results
show the budget result with all the cuts.

Yeah, cutting almost $5,000,000,000,000 from spending will lead to bankruptcy.
News flash, when your debt exceeds your net worth, you're bankrupt. We passed that rubicon a few years ago. When you cut spending and decrease your reliance on foreign goods while increasing domestic manufacturing of those same goods to offset the differential, you climb out of a hole.

We will all know Congress is serious about the US debt when they propose and pass legislation for a balanced budget amendment, until that happens nothing will truly change and US debt will continue to rise.
