Imagine what our government could have accomplished if Republicans had any balls these last two years.
They have done more to twart his agenda than the Democrats.

This HAS to be the weakest legislative performance in American history when a party had control of ALL branches of government.
-abolish the filibuster
-pass the Save America Act
-expand the federal judiciary (including the Supreme Court)...appoint young Republican judges/justices
-abolish the Department of Education

I don't think this has anything to do with thwarting Trump's agenda. [Willing to be wrong about this if Trump complains about cancelation.]
I think Massie is right. It's more likely to stop Massie from getting enough votes on the discharge petition for Epstein Transparency Act 2.
That was Johnson's m.o. the first time around to try to stop Massie's first Epstein discharge petition by keeping the House out so he had a (lame) excuse for not swearing in Rep. Grijalva who would be Massie’s final vote needed for the discharge petition.

Johnson then did not swear her in for nearly seven weeks. He repeatedly said that he would swear her in when the House returned to session, while keeping the House out during the government shutdown. The effect was that Grijalva couldn't provide the 218th signature.
There is especially interesting evidence that this wasn't simply an unavoidable consequence of the recess:
Johnson had previously sworn in two Republican special-election winners, Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis of Florida, while the House was not in regular session.
Grijalva and Democrats pointed to that precedent and argued that Johnson could swear her in without waiting for the House to resume normal business.
Massie himself explicitly connected the recess to the petition, saying: “Why are we in recess? Because the day we go back into session, I have 218 votes for the discharge petition.”

Congress still hasn’t finished any of the 12 regular spending bills for the new fiscal year. Instead they passed another temporary funding bill through Dec. 11, basically kicking the whole thing past the election. And now the House is cancelling two previously scheduled September work weeks.
Leaving town with one of Congress’s most basic jobs unfinished and saying “we’ll deal with it after the election” isn’t exactly a great look either.
Certainly they've done nothing substantive to help the average American with things that matter most. So, basically, they remain a "Do Nothing Congress" despite all the hype, innudendo and bluster. Basically worthless politicians. Business as usual. We certainly didn't vote for this.

Agreed. I read earlier today that Thune is saying he thinks the GOP is likely to lose the Senate. What leader/coach does that??? Many of the folks I listen to think we'll keep the Senate but not sure about the House.
" well team, we'll do our best, but we're probably going to lose".
Thune has to be compromised and deliberately trying to lose and hurt this nation.

I'm sick of all of them. John Kennedy, AKA Temu Jerry Clower, can go to hell, too. He's just an actor who likes to "show off" during Congressional hearings similar to what Trey "For Pay" Gowdy used to do. At the end of the day, that means NOTHING.
