quote:

Top Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to FBI director Christopher Wray on Monday demanding he review his agency's handling of its investigation into Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn, according to a copy of the letter obtained by Axios.

quote:

Sources familiar with the document tell Axios the letter is a direct rebuke of Wray, and that it reflects a growing frustration among congressional Republicans who question whether he can be trusted to expose what they see as a corrupt FBI.

quote:

The letter — written by ranking member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), one of Trump's fiercest defenders, and Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) — also casts doubt on Wray's motives for not disclosing what they describe as "the FBI's misconduct," and questions whether he and other top FBI officials intentionally "prevented or delayed the disclosure of additional exculpatory information" regarding Flynn.

quote:

The six-page letter demands that Wray:

Turn over all documents and communications relating to the FBI's investigation into Flynn.

Explain when Wray "personally first learned of the FBI’s misconduct" with respect to Flynn.

Explain why the public "is learning of the FBI’s misconduct with respect to LTG Flynn from court filings rather than from you."

Explain whether Wray and the FBI’s senior leadership were involved in keeping this information hidden.

The deadline to turn over these documents is May 18,

quote:

The letter comes as Trump himself is turning on Wray, who he hand-selected to lead the FBI after firing former director James Comey.

Trump would love to replace Wray, three sources who've discussed the matter with the president tell Axios' Jonathan Swan, and private and public pressure is building among several of the president's allies.

But Trump has been deferring to Attorney General Bill Barr and is unlikely to remove Wray before the election, these sources said.

Wray and the FBI look crooked as hell in their dealing with this. Outside agency needs to be in charge of an internal investigation.

The House Republicans are in a position to demand nothing.

The House Democrats are in a position to grant nothing.

That's all well and fine and, as usual, nothing will come of it.

It seems it is a formal justification for him when he is fired. Which I hope is soon.

I researched and Wray was Chris Christie's lawyer for bridgegate so I am presuming Christie suggested him.

Why the frick are we asking the Eff Bee Eye to investigate the Eff Bee Eye?

That's like if my wife suspected that I was cheating, and hired me to disprove her suspicions.

I had intended to write a smart arse post addressing the concept of this thread. Something like: writing a letter to Wray, a lot of good that will do.

After reading your post I will roll with your idea. For today: Positive is how I live.

My only hope that the Wray's of govt stalling cover-up is somewhat ended is...

quote:

Sources told Fox News Thursday that the committee is slated to hold a hearing on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. ET for the confirmation of Ratcliffe, R-Texas, as DNI.
IIRC: Warner, Burr, & Turtle and the rest of the GOPe... did not like this idea before and blocked it.

They will confirm this man but is it too late? The deep state damage is done and there better be justice.

Why was Ratcliffe suddenly allowed at DNI? Warner, Turtle, mostly all the GOPe and Burr said no way, negatory to Ratcliffe heading DNI months ago...

I was thinking this earlier. It seems as if a deal was made. Let Trump be Trump, no arrests, govt continuation, Trump gets vindicated.

I am telling you Burr & Warner with Wolfe is the straw that broke the camels back. If they fall and justice is served- it all landslides. It is why Burr got news reports on his slushing leaked out. He is done-go home, govt continues. Trump has to carry on as it all is but with vindication. Deals were made I can feel it.
