This should be fun:

quote:

House Democrats on Friday announced a new bill to protect inspectors general from political retribution in response to President Donald Trump’s “relentless attacks” against government watchdogs.

The bill from Democrats on the House Oversight Committee came a week after Trump fired State Department Inspector General Steve Linick on a recommendation from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Linick was reportedly conducting at least two investigations involving Pompeo when he was removed last Friday night.

“Unfortunately, this bill has become necessary because the Trump administration has launched a campaign against inspectors general for doing their jobs, for investigating waste, fraud, and abuse, for reporting the truth, and for holding this administration accountable,” said Oversight Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., in a press release.

...to be conveniently forgotten when a Democrat is in office and wants to can his predecessor's IG's. Besides, it's unconstitutional on it's face. This whole shtick is for showin', not blowin' - IOW media consumption.

I don't think even Mitt Romney is this stupid.

What's next?

House Dems introduce the "Let us choose the cabinet" bill after Trump chooses people for his cabinet that they do not like?

If they held the Senate, they could have a say.

They hold the House, so they can sit the frick down and shut the frick up.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

It's funny, whatever the Dems say trump is guilty of, they are more guilty of doing.

You'd think these Ding Dongs in the opposition party would know Constitutional basics and the Separation of Powers. They've actually done this to themselves by ceding too much legislative authority from Congress to the Executive Branch via the Administrative State. Ben Sasse, the never-Trump cuckold that he is, gave an excellent speech on the Senate floor outlining this.

Congress has ceded a lot of their power to the Presidency over the decades. Now they want to take the Enumerated Powers away from the Executive Branch.

Stupid is as stupid does. Party of science, logic, and reason is dwarfed by the fictional character of mentally retarded Forrest Gump.
