Calling bullshite on that. A 4.2 GPA would mean he's in AP classes and is getting straight As and Bs.
This could be a 5.0 scale. And even so, honors courses can be weighted higher.

Measured against what standard?

I didn't say I wanted it. It's human nature.

Is he implying they were rejected because of the "movement"?

Measured against what standard?
Other schools in the state/region etc.
A friend of mine - her kid was in the top 12% of his original HS, but to make it into Univ of Texas, he needed to be in the top 10% so he transferred and got a full ride to UT as a result......b/c the school he attended was garbage. So some of these universities will "weight" your school.

Lol why did he think he could get into UCLA with that SAT score?
Especially being from outside the state...forget about it

Damn this kid sure has hurt a lot of feelings around here.
Thoughts and prayers for those devastated most by the kid’s comments.

I’m surprised he was accepted into Cal Poly. They get 70,000 apps for 2,000 placements. And, preference is given to CA residents.

no it's not, but he's prog hero david hogg. I think his grades and scores are probably heavily inflated for him not to be packing his bags for Yale.

So the standard is just the schools themselves.
Sort of like Carroll to Neville in Monroe I would assume.

I never know what to make of the ACT and SAT scores these days. It seems like they have changed and higher scores are not as rare as they once were.
Back when I was in high school (late 80’s), I remember only two kids making over a 30. One of them ended up being General Councel for a Vice President of the United States and a Deputy AAG at the DOJ. The other was a newspaper editor last I heard.
Now that I’ve got kids in high school, hearing them talk about it, above a 30 seems much more common.
