I hope SA, Isreal, Jordan and Egypt team up to wreak shop in that shithole of a region. That area needs an enema in the worst way and it appears those 4 want to modernize the region

It amazes me how Americans can side with Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of 19 of the 20 hijackers from 9/11 and the exporter of the most violent form of Islam, against Lebanon, a country with a 40% Maronite Christian population.

Problem with Lebanon isn’t the Christian population but the fact that Hezbollah runs things.

That doesn't even seem like it would cover the cost of jet fuel and missiles for the air strikes, let alone the cost of damage from Lebanese retaliatory strikes, possible Israeli jets being shot down, etc.

If they're only fighting the Saudis, yes.
But SA is probably the biggest counter-balance to Iranian influence in the ME. Would the Israelis sit on the sidelines and take a chance that Iran destroys SA in a war, overthrows the Saudi monarchy, and installs their own puppet government in its place?

Reportedly, Israel responded with "20 million? Why would I attack Lebanon for 30 million? It's gonna take a lot more than 40 million to attack Lebanon! The supplies alone would make an attack on Lebanon cost at least 50 million!"
