picking a guy who rails against the regressive philosophy that promotes the white-male guilt model wasn't a good example
that's why i was curious if you had an example. i figured you had some clip fro when he was on TYT and defended the philosophy before he realized the error of his ways. he's part of the "New Atheist" movement that rejects PC/SJW stuff like what OP is talking about. they're liberals but not "regressives"

Yeah I'm not sure how they figure siding with the minorities against their own menfolk is somehow gonna work in favor of their own self interest.

I hate the subject line, it just screams retard but anyway I see the 'privilege' term is used in the thread.
I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do with my privilege- I kept seeing that I need to check it but how do I check it and what am I to do with it after? And btw- I can acknowledge that I grew up somewhat privileged thanks to my awesome parents and grand parents. They built themselves and their families up with hard work but I will not deny the fact that they were white and that probably made it easier for them to do so. However, I'm still at a loss as to what I'm supposed to do with it- apologize for it? I don't see why that's necessary, but what else is there for one to do with their privilege?

they're specifically not acting in their own self interest
they reject that as promoting their privilege
they feel lots of guilt for their perceived privilege and actively seek to destroy this

typically "checking your privilege" means "shut up, give no opinions, believe what we tell you to believe, and do what we tell you to do"
