DEVELOPING: A senior intel official tells @CBSNews
the GRU/Taliban bounty allegations were not contained in the President's Daily Brief (PDB) which is the highly classified, daily summary of national security issues delivered to the President, key cabinet secretaries + advisers..

The official confirmed the NSC has been doing “due diligence,” and going back through their files since the story broke Friday, and they have not found the “intelligence assessment” described in media reporting.

Media needs to get better sources or they need to stop reporting on intel leaks altogether.

Said leaker needs to be found and prosecuted, and whoever broke this needs to be identified and called out as a liar

Catherine is one of the only true journalists left. I’m surprised CBS still employs her.

She hasn't been there that long and they knew who she was when they hired her from Fox.

Fox should have never let her go. She's one of the very few true journalists left.

It’s truly amazing how low and desperate they are.

It doesn’t really shock me though. They’ll do anything for power

Yes because the Russians putting a bounty on American soldiers is something that the president should definitely not know about it

If he didn't get briefed about it the person who made the decision not to brief him should be fired

so...

If Trump wasn't briefed on it, that is a problem.
If Trump was briefed on it, but is denying it, that is a problem.
If Trump knows it now, but doesn't acknowledge it, that is a problem.

Honestly yes for different reasons

So if he knew and hid it/ did nothing while singing the praises of Russia then yes that's an issue

If he wasn't then there needs to be a top down evaluation of the millitary because they should not be hiding it from him

If number two happened then as I said someone needs to be fired in intelligence

The president gets briefings on everything or at least should

So either trump got it and is hiding it or the millitary is hiding it from trump take your pick

Oh, I agree it is. I am saying it is funny that people are deflecting this back onto the dems. Somebody in Trumps camp fricked up "bigly". It may have been Trump himself, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say he wasn't briefed.

The POTUS wasn't briefed that a country put a bounty on US soldiers that led to their deaths...then the president actively tries to get the country that put out the bounty on their soldiers readmitted into the G8. This is a big deal.

I completely agree it needs to be figured out.

If it didn't get to his desk there's definitely a paper trail of where it went you need to find where it stops. Not a fan of his response right now needs to find where the briefing went instead of going after the media sure it's a strategy but this is a bit more important right now, you can own the times later if needed.

Definitely not willing to believe the ruskies saying they didn't do this so I'm assuming there's a briefing somewhere on it

Or, follow me here, they are double checking the intel to confirm it actually happened before we even know its true? Like all intelligence should be vetted unless from know high level informants?

Pretty much every single story the last 4 years has been fake.

IF the reports are true they first knew about this is Feb. If the CIA can't confirm reports in 6 months then we probably don't need to be wasting our money on it

It’s fake news like the Steele dossier. It wasn’t deemed credible enough to bring to the president’s attention. It’s not his fault that the fake news MSM ran with it in an attempt of a smear campaign

The fake news is putting anything and everything out there, then they can always issue a retraction.

It's out there already, can't retract that, the ones that need a beating are the spineless GOP's that are already screaming.

Trump needs to have a Come to Jesus meeting.
