there are just more of them in Virginia.

How did they elect a republican governor then? That was just a cycle ago.

VA is a bluish-purple state. There are enough moderates to swing an election but it takes the right candidate/scenario, which 2019 was. There was the tranny-school scandals, Youngkin was moderate, and he kept Trump away.

It's going to go DEM more often, but then they'll go too far and every couple of cycles the GOP will get a shot if they can find a good candidate like Youngkin. Their last candidate was terrible and it seemed like lots of people were just invested in the "DEMs voted against a black woman" meme more than finding a good candidate.

Yeah, Florida was too until they got rid of all the corruption. You can keep believing this though.

What's amazing is that he's such a phony but believes he is the smartest person on here. It's truly a sight to behold.

If the Republicans are outnumbered- how were they supposed to win?

They gerrrymandered all 4 current GOP congressional seats into majority Dem districts. Before this new Govorner the previous one was a R.

Virginia Judge Voids Redistricting Amendment, Invalidates All Votes from Tuesday's Special Election. LINK

Judge Jack Hurley, a Republican appointee, declared the Democratic-backed measure unconstitutional on multiple grounds, permanently blocking the state from implementing new congressional maps. Attorney General Jay Jones vowed an immediate appeal.

The Democrats would likelly have done this with or without Trump's actions. It just would have been talked about less and probably barely noticed by the GOP

This is just not consistent with the facts. California Democrats have been dominant there for decades and Newsom did not do anything about massively gerrymandered redistricting until Trump raised the Texas issue. Similarly with Virginia, Democrat Ralph Northam was governor from 2014-2018 and no massive Democratic gerrymander was on the table then. Sure, there is always some level of gerrymandering in every state, but not of the kind we have seen this year in the middle of the ten year census period to maximize one party's seats in the next congress. These are reactionary moves based on Trump's demands on Texas, not some pre-planned strategy.

Massachuetts had a GOP senator until 2018 and had a GOP governor in 2022. Every county in the state voted for Harris

Parties run bad candidates and statewide taces are different. When Desantis first won the Florida governor race in 2018, there was more Democrats registered in 2018 than Republicans

CA really didn't need to redistrict given their dominance.

I grant you Trump pushing it was a bad idea because of the easily foreseen response from the Democrat states.

California was already gerrymandered towards the Dems to a very large degree.

Reacting to Texas just make California go to the extreme.
