Helicopter crash at the border

They claim that the cartel was monitoring them with a drone and were laughing when it crashed. What would you say are the odds that the chopper was shot down by the cartel and our government is covering it up? I think that is highly more likely than they just happened to be in the same place as thing this crashed in clear weather.

Cartel shot video and it was having about 50 ft off ground but they turned the video off, next video showed it already crashed. The helicopter did not seem to be having problems based on the video I saw.

Our government probably sent them a letter saying they’re sorry they felt like they had to shoot it down.

I sure hope they got all their pronouns right.

I don’t know why any cartel would want that kind of heat.

I feel like cartel isn’t that stupid. They know outright killing of Americans would result in scorched earth

Did the drone crash into the rotor? I can imagine that might bring it down.

Not that it matters but helicopters crash all the time. They just do. Look at the number of military birds that go down during training and ops. Then consider all the tourist choppers and private ones that crash. They are complicated machines with the aerodynamics of a brick.
I spent hundreds and hundreds of hours riding in the back of them in my former life and consider myself very lucky I was never in an incident. I vowed to never get in one again once I retired and have actually passed up offers to go up for a spin since that time.
My buddy is a Blackhawk pilot and he says "this thing has 10,000 moving parts and only 9,870 of them are critical to us staying in the air...". He says that always gets an uneasy laugh out of his passengers.

My dad was a mechanic at Bell Helicopter in the 60s. He said son.. NEVER get in a helicopter.
I don't know anything about this crash, but my first thought was to wonder if the NG was still getting all the old equipment the Army was putting out to pasture.

The only time they have the aerodynamics of a brick is if the main rotor system comes off.If you have your main rotor you can auto rotate and land wherever you choose provided you have enough altitude. 30+ years of working on and riding in Helicopters. No crashes, 1 engine failure with successful auto rotation. Changed the engine and put the aircraft back in service the next day.

They are killing us everyday and we reward them with phones, cash cards, and free airfare, housing and food. Maybe they want more??????????

MR is attached in photos I’ve seen, GB could have seized up. They could have been high enough but too low and came down fast where auto didn’t work. Its more than a hard landing and IMO if it was brought down, we’d know by now. Could be shotty maint and not following dessert conditions for special and scheduled maint or pilot error.
