So he had limitless reserves of energy to outrun cars. Cool.

because he was a thief on probation for stealing casing other people's shite to steal.

There is no possible way for the vigilantes to have known that prior to the chase.

They can guess or assume, but they don't know anything about him as an individual.

quote:

No, they brought guns because the son had caught the thief on that property two-ish weeks prior, and the thief reached into his waist band and threatened the son and the son left.

Even more reason why they should have just called the police in this situation.

quote:

In their mind the thief was armed.

Call the police.

So it wasn't only about him potentially stealing, they thought he was a threat.

If they had to chase him, then at no point was he a threat to them.

Seems like he would stop running and put his hands up rather than go on the offensive. I give up, please don’t shoot.

I’m not saying these guys are innocent. I’m commenting on what I see in the video. You always come at me. You are often wrong. I have been wrong before too.

He ran cause he knew he was going to jail. Period

Or because he thought he was going to die at the hands of three idiots that were pointing a gun at him.

He slows up quite a bit as the video starts. He’s been running for minutes at that point. He’s doubled back several times. He has two vehicles chasing him. One has hit him. He has guns pointed at him.

Stopping is an option if you know they aren’t going to shoot you. How would he have known that?

You’re making points that have nothing to do with the legal case.
The point is it doesn’t matter if they knew he was on probation for burglary. Aubrey knew he’d be arrested for trespassing or burglary if the cops came, and that’s why he wouldn’t stop for them and why he attacked them.

Same reason many people resist arrest for simple misdemeanors. They’ve got warrants or are on probation and know they’re going to jail, so they resist.

Yeah he was worried they were going to shoot him, so when they didn’t, he ran at them and grabbed the gun.

Then they did shoot him, so he made a bad call.

If you can’t keep running, don’t you think stopping with hands up is a better survival strategy than engaging in combat?

It obviously is. Sleep on it.

They could have shot him much earlier but didn’t. He made them shoot him. It’s obvious from the circumstances.

They didn’t shoot but could have, until he went at them.

Maybe. He also could have been completely and reasonably afraid they were going to kill him. Both of those could’ve been true.

I’m not sure why this is such a lynchpin to the law and order folks. His motivation of avoiding arrest in running doesn’t give the McMichaels the legal right to detain him.

It obviously is a better strategy. It’s not one he was legally bound to follow.

So why are you defending him running at them? We agree.

Haven't followed this case much but will admit I'd like to see them get off just for the riots.

From the little I recall about it, I don't think they will be getting off.

I'm not going to argue with you when you are ignoring the fact that the McMichaels are the aggressors.

Uh, no I admit they did exactly what they did. The played police and toyed with the guy with guns. They probably called him the n word, if you want to know my speculation. They are fricking shitheads. I would probably hate them, based on what I see.

What am I ignoring?
