Have Republicans never read "The Art of War?"

Nope. Not a word.
Of course the party leadership is closer to the left than true conservative ideals, so....

I prefer, “When your enemy is digging his own grave, do not take away his shovel.”

You make the false assumption that most elected Republicans want to win. Many of them do not. They're there to go along to get along because they know the game is rigged. They're nothing but controlled opposition. There's a few fighters who believe they can do something to stop the left, but they're few and far between.

Not good at reading Chinese

Wrong. When you are up big, you cash in some chips. Overturning Roe v. Wade is worth half of any seats gained in midterms.

Do you realize how razor thin the counntry is currently from getting DC as a state and all elections being federalized? This is not the hill to die on....no pun intended.
Yes, It's truly one of the most vile acts a human can do, but, if some sicko wants to murder their own baby, they have to live with it for eternity..not me and you.
If/when the filibuster is killed, SCOTUS is packed, and election fraud essentially legalized, then you don't have country anymore, and everyone will essentially be living in China.
Sorry mate.. This is something they will campaign on with ferver for the next 6 months. It also resonates to a great many "on the fence" voters, who were basically off the Dem Train, but now, because this evokes 1960s and 70s classic political memories, these idiots will fall in line again.
This a great thing morally, but a very bad thing strategically in an election year.

I think a lot, maybe most, conservative go to Congress with good intentions but within a term or two their entire extended families are feeding at the trough and they lose the will to rock the boat.

What a sad and cynical perspective.

Regarding "The Art of War", Sun Tzu says "Battles are won before they are fought."
Tell a 17y/o victim of a broken condom that she can't have an abortion after her 1st missed period, and instead must ruin her life by carrying an unintended pregnancy to term, and you've created a passel of Democrats for life.
Tell her she can legally have an abortion upto 16wks, and it's a whole different ballgame.

I'm confused here. The majority of us wanted right leaning judges on the court to maybe overturn RvW. We got them and a case was presented and a ruling is coming and now we complain that now is not the right time to be making a ruling. Are you saying the ruling should be postponed for the Republicans sake for the coming election? That would be a very political move by the court don't you think? I thought that is considered taboo.
I'll agree it's not the best of timing but this is not the fault of Republicans as a party. If it is then we're all to blame for voting for Trump who appointed the new justices.

You want to kill a baby out of convenience? Do you not realize how evil that is?

Well she is probably going to be shot anyway in crossfire by a thug who has been arrested 5 previous times and let out of jail so that he didn’t ruin his life at a young age.

Unless it keeps the Dims in power and they pass an even worse federal statute.

No they enjoy losing too much.

Please inform us and use real data.

You're a big boy. You figure it out from there.
But while we're discussing it, men suffer very little legal responsibility as counterparties in the pregnancy equation. So it's safe to say any percentage of unintended pregnancies actually ruining their mothers lives FAR EXCEEDS the same percentage for men.

No. Personally I think a lot of times Republicans.....and Democrats merely want the issue and not resolution. Abortion is big money from a fundraising perspective. Just like guns. Neither side wants the issue to go away. The last thing any of the politicians want is a consensus.
Think immigration. The debate has been hot now for over 2 decades and neither side really wants to tackle it. The right rails against "amnesty" and the left yells for comprehensive immigration reform. Both mean that they don't want an actual solution.
