Have any of you lost close friends or family relationships over politics?

Serious question.
I have a couple friends lately that have truly just gone full blown crazy since Trump won again
I’m taking long term friends not just acquaintances.
People I’ve known close for 20 plus years. They were kinda middle of the road, but Trump has really cause them to go nuts.
It’s amazing that their whole life is surrounded by one guy and their emotions. I’m genuinely curious how they will be when he’s gone lol

Trump seems to cause a lot of people to lose it.

Yes. My brother, a few others. They’re eaten up with TDS and I’m evil as I’m an independent Trump supporter.

No. I don’t bring it up at all. I have one close friend that I’ve known for almost 20 years that’s a hard core liberal. If the subject ever comes up, I just lie and say I agree with whatever he thinks. If people are going to act like children and cut people out of their lives over politics, then I’ll treat them like a child and lie to them like we do about Santa Clause being real.

Yeah….i understand this as one of the friends I was talking about said Charlie Kirk was a nazi and maybe didn’t deserve to be murdered but he was a piece of shite

Lost eh, strained yes. My BIL. The wife (No pics) and I are closing in on 25 years of marriage and me and the BIL have always gotten along great. He's very to the left and when I say to the left I mean this is the only person I've ever known who is retiring and MOVING to Los Angeles. Sadly though this 2nd Trump presidency has completely broken him. Legit every thing is Trumps fault.

I've blocked/removed several friends wives the past year.

The husband's pretend to be liberal adjacent to their wives in public but every one of them voted for trump.

The women arent serious people and live far too comfortably imo. Theyre all on pills and winos, and support the current thing. Just boring miserable people.

Is he actually your friend if you can’t bring that up and have to lie to him? I have liberal friends and we’ll talk some shite and hug it out in the end. I don’t think you should lie to a friend. You can tell him you don’t want to talk politics, but don’t lie.
He is. And politics is the only thing I lie to him about. It rarely even comes up enough that it’s an issue. I think the last time we had a discussion about it was right after the election. He’s done the whole “if you’re a Trump supporter then unfriend me and lose my number”.

I just roll my eyes and keep going on about my life. And I knowing that he, like a child, will have his little tantrum and calm down.

This is a bitch-made post. Essentially what you're saying is that you don't stand your ground.

Personally, I've lost a few. I don't worry about it. I'm going to continue speaking truth to power the same way I have since long before Trump got into office. Literally the only difference in my life is that TDS has infected some folks to the point where those people and I no longer can even be friendly. And that's ok, because in the end they will see the truth and those relationships will be restored. Hopefully.

You would lie to keep the peace? Just to keep a friend?

The Marxist have won.

Ehh, it still hurts.

Sure. But lots of shite hurts. I cannot and will not allow the loss of a relationship to a dumb shite hurt me worse than, say, losing a loved one to cancer. Not when they're still kicking and just being a dumb arse, and the loved one was lost to cancer due to this same necrotic fricking bullshite that these other people literally cannot see because they have OMB blinders on and don't realize that the same people trying to remove Trump are the ones who are responsible for the 400% rise in cancer cases we see since 2020.

I can try to tell them, but if they can't see it, frick them. They are still healthy. They are still spewing hate. If they're too fricking ignorant to actually see the evil that surrounds us, frick them.

On a different level though, I still love them. And when this is over we can pick back up where we left off. No harm, no foul. So long as they see what actually fricking happened. I don't even need an apology. Just recognition on their part.

ETA: that was just an example, by the way. But I'm trying to impress how serious their ignorance is.
