Do you struggle with reading comprehension? Victim (Chicago) or victims (South Carolina). Both crimes are committed with the thought in mind the victim is sub-human or not human at all. Both are equally heinous.

You can't be serious. Killing people is the same as cutting someone's hair and torturing them?

The end result is obviously not the same, but it takes the same kind of depravity and disregard for life. I would not be surprised if one or more of this group would turn into a killer, if they haven't killed already.

If torturing animals is an indicator of sociopathy, then what is torturing a retarded kid?

However they aren't killers yet as far as we know. You can't convict someone for what you think they're capable of. The crimes are not close to the same. I don't think the kid even needed stitches. Whateve long term damage he has will be psychological.

And is he retarded, autistic, or have a mental disorder? All three have been reported.

Why does the media constantly use "white suburban teenager" when describing the kidnapped and tortured kid?

Is the media trying to pit suburban vs inner city? Are they trying to downplay the situation since the kid is better off than his abductors?

Thoughts?

I think the media has a vested interest in stirring the pot so they facilitate the shite storm as much as possible.

I see "white, special needs man" in the articles that I read. You should find better sources.

What are you trying to say here?

While I have no faith in our criminal justice system and have already predicted in another thread they will get off light, they are facing some major charges. Kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, GTA, plus hate-crime multipliers.

Plus it's on video for the jury to see, so it can't be under emphasized.

On paper, they are facing 50 plus years each. So, you don't have to convict someone for what they are capable of. This trash could potentially be put away for close to life for just what we've seen on video.

Why are you knighting for them?

I'm not "knighting" for them. They're criminals on their way to jail. I don't know about 50 years or even 5 years really. But they'll get what's coming to them.

I think 10 years would be the minimum sentence that I would accept as sufficient, but more is justifiable.

I watched the video and I'm not sure how they are even redeemable as human beings.

I know the death penalty is not an option, but people like that have no place in society.

If they get 5 years, which would mean they even serve less, it would be a travesty. But I won't be surprised.

I only watched half the video. I didn't see the older sister do anything. Is it possible that she even helped the victim escape? Maybe we should wait and find out what happened before convicting her?

I'm fairly certain no one here is going going to be on her jury so that they may have the opportunity to assist in convicting her.
