I wonder if it would have been a hate crime if the victim wasn't disabled

Good question. I admit that I have my doubts.

Everyone who was liking and commenting on the facebook video should be blasted over the net. People should do everything to get them fired or show them how unfunny this all was.

The victim's parents told officers they had received text messages from people who claimed to be holding him captive. During their investigation, Streamwood investigators found the disturbing video on Facebook, which showed he had been verbally and physically abused.

Can you imagine the rage going through the parents' minds?

The timeline shows he went willingly with them for a day or two, I'm guessing the assault began when the poor kid said he liked Donald Trump.

IMO shooting them would be to good for them.

I think we should do to them what the Africans did to the first white man who tried to establish trade routes with them.

Their arms and legs should be staked down to the ground and a stick put in their mouth so they can't close it.

Then anyone who wants to can piss and shite in their mouth until the creeps are dead.

aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and residential burglary
damn, going to be doing some time. Probably get a light sentence relative to the charges so not to piss off the blm people who will immediately begin saying that they got a stricter sentencing on account of their skin color and press coverage

Or like how Vasco Da Gama opened up the Indian trade routes for the Europeans:

da Gama made a call to the Hindu king to expel all Muslims from Calicut before beginning negotiations, which was turned down. The Portuguese fleet then bombarded the city for nearly two days from the sea shore, severely damaging the unfortified city. He also captured several rice vessels and cut off the crew's hands, ears and noses, dispatching them with an insulting note to the Zamorin

On his second voyage, Vasco da Gama inflicted acts of cruelty upon competing traders and local inhabitants, which sealed his notoriety in India. During his second voyage to Calicut, da Gama intercepted a ship of Muslim pilgrims at Madayi travelling from Calicut to Mecca. Described in detail by eyewitness Thomé Lopes and chronicler Gaspar Correia, da Gama looted the ship with over 400 pilgrims on board including 50 women, locked in the passengers, the owner and an ambassador from Egypt and burned them to death. They offered their wealth, which "could ransom all the Christian slaves in the Kingdom of Fez and much more" but were not spared. Da Gama looked on through the porthole and saw the women bringing up their gold and jewels and holding up their babies to beg for mercy.

That's Olde Skule stuff right there.

Yep, but there are at least three people who think what he did wasn't worse than the Chicago 4, or the Jena 6.

I happen to think it was.

I don't understand comparing the two crimes. They are both despicable. One doesn't have to be compared to another to increase or decrease its value.

The unwillingness to acknowledge the basic humanity of the victim or victims is the issue at hand. Both are heinous crimes.

Thugs on the video: "frick White people!"

Mainstream media: "Now we don't know for SURE the motivation was because of race. It could be because he was mentally handicapped."

When exactly did they yell, "frick the mentally disabled!"?

Then why are you talking to me? Why didn't you respond to this instead?

Besides, now we're comparing THREE crimes.

Again, why are you responding to me? Why didn't you respond to this post?

And why don't you think what Dylann Roof did was just as heinous - if not more so?

I don't believe in "hate crimes"

The whole concept of "hate crimes" is stupid. In this and any other case there are sufficient laws to punish people for their actions why should the reason they did it have any bearing. It as always been the case that if someone attacks or kills another person they probably don't like them very much.

I don't believe there should be a law that labels anything a hate crime, but since there is, this one certainly fits that description.
