With our currency, it just means we're rich, basically.

For now, until you factor in that our debt is going to out weigh our currency being we are going 1 trillion further in the hole every 100 days.

What do you expect the world's richest country with the best economy and the world's reserve currency/petrodollar to do with respect to trade, exactly?

Again, how long does the worlds richest AND the most in debt country in the world hold the worlds reserve currency/petrodollar tittle? The trade deficit is one problem that must be addressed. Do not reply with some magical lawyer jargon that it does not matters as in fact it does.

quote:

The math will never work out for anything other than a massive trade deficit.

The math says that we either cure the trade deficit or become a nation that has no choice but to be consumed by the other nations.

That's a completely different discussion than our federal deficit/debt, and tariffs won't solve that problem.

No one that I know of has said that our only problem is trade deficits. As I said in a previous post, it is trade deficit, over spending to include fraud, ignorance, etc.

No emotion here. China uses slave labor. It’s known.

That's a completely different problem than trade policy.

Until there is a competitor. Nobody is CLOSE. The Euro was the only potential competitor and, let's be honest, it's a joke.

There is not an economy or country with the economic/monetary stability to even begin to try to compete.

The trade deficit is one problem that must be addressed.

Other than being poor or losing USD as the world's reserve currency, how can we even address it?

How would they consume us?

Well we are spending more on debt interest than our military budget. At 1 trillion more debt every 100 days and will spiral into every 75 days then 50 days the ending is ugly. Do the math. It has to stop or yes we will be consumed.

Yes, we need to cut federal spending.

If we do that, it will cause negative economic results. Even with those, we will remain the world's richest country with the world's reserve currency, and we will still mathematically have to have a trade deficit.

Only because of our military. So we are going to ride out us owing the world because we can beat them up? China is probably going to have a problem with that as they hold the notes on a big portion of our debt. I guess we will see. Will come down to who controls the world. Is it us, china, or the globalists? The fight rages on.

Did not answer my question. Yes we trade and they have to have it because we provide food and fuel. They provide cheap manufactured crap. The problem is we have a huge note with them that keeps us from prospering. They are a few things that we can do to cure this problem. I will give you one guess on what policy/or policies are being used to solve this issue.

As if you read anything on this board. You would need to stop typing for a second.

The one true conservative doesn’t see the point of a president trying to mar the country self sufficient by cutting spending and lowering individual taxes.

You fail to see the “problem” like you fail to see anything else you disagree with like “lawfare”. Everyone else is having the same conversation, but you are the one that knows what’s up. Yes, we are all waiting on a know it all lawyer to explain world trade, tax policy and macro economics to us

No, it’s not. Again, define rich.

Tariffs are not the end game, sorry you are having trouble connecting the dots.

I thought we were talking about china roger, but since you decided to break in and show your infinite knowledge, please share what the Germans and Japanese have capabilities that we do not.
