Well, that’s just patently false. Not sure where you got your information from but you were only tested if you were symptomatic or specifically came in for testing due to exposure, etc.
So perhaps it was only inpatient patients that were all routinely tested upon entering the hospital, not ER patients? Because I do know that the Amer. Academy of Pediatrics said that child covid hospitalizations were over-reported by about 40% because children came in for other medical things , were routinely tested though asymptomatic, and if positive they were reported as a "child covid hospitalization" rather than a tonsillectomy or whatever. So maybe routine testing was only for inpatients?

What if I said both? I do happen to work in an ER and also have common sense.
Well, there has been a severe lack of common sense in everything covid. So, if you're answer is based on common sense, then it's probably wrong.

In the midst of the spikes, patients who were being admitted to the hospital as an inpatient (I.e. not staying in the ER amd being discharged home) were indeed all tested. This was not done for purposes of Covid counts but for the purpose of trying to keep Covid+ patients on a Covid unit and trying to keep Covid- patients from catching it in the hospital.

This was never my hospital’s policy, for what it’s worth. And my ER tests vaccinated and unvaccinated alike when the symptoms and/or exposures suggest it’s worthwhile.

Which would ironically improve your life.
If Trump were to return you wouldn’t see a clusterfrick in Afghanistan, an open border, inflation through the roof, and rising gas prices.
Maybe this is one of those conspiracy theories you hope will be true?

My son and I both had RSV in early August. Kicked out butts but definitely not Covid after multiple tests.
We both went to urgent care for some zpacks and steroids. Not asked about vaccines either time.
I did ask the Dr about vaccinating my 14 year old and he was personally against it.

Wiseguy,
In your expert medical opinion, why are 20% of covid deaths fully vaccinated while 10% of covid hospitalizations are fully vaccinated? Is it from over reporting of unvaccinated hospitalizations, under reporting of vaccinated hospitalizations, or vaccinated people that get hospitalized have a lower percentage of survival rate?
You can't say that 10% of the population resulting in 20% of the deaths is a good thing for that population.

Why not both GIF here.
The test are garbage. False positives. Can't tell Cold from the Flu from Covid.

I was in one about a month ago when my wife sliced her finger open. They asked if she was vaccinated, but didn’t require proof.

I was in the ER a couple months ago. They never even mentioned covid or the vaccine to me. They did give me a tetanus shot cause they said I was overdue for it. I had serious injuries that were much more dangerous than covid though so that may be why.

So if you are NOT vaxxed and go to er with symptoms and SAY that you are, do they medically treat you different or the same?

Question 1: Are you vaccinated?
Question 2: Did they ask you when you last got a tetanus shot?
If your answers are yes, no, then maybe they didn't mention covid because they saw your vaccination status in your medical records.

No I'm not vaccinated and no they just brought the tetanus shot in.

Supportive care, generally. There is a bunch of fairly decent data suggesting innefectiveness of albuterol, racemic epi, steroids, hypertonic saline nebs, and antibiotics for general use.
It's a very frustrating virus- it lingers for a lot longer than most, and in the very young and the somewhat-old it can cause some pretty significant problems.

How long has rsv been around? M guessing forever.
Rotavirus sucked I can tell you that. For the kids and us parents. Nasty stuff.

I've heard the same thing from local nurses regarding "vaccinated" people going to the ER or hospital not getting tested.

I think it was first recognized as a distinct entity in the 50s. I’m sure it has been around far longer.
