I have no doubt the Royal household would like to put some distance between them and these two. William, Kate, Charles, and The Queen are the only ones that matter. The Queen is getting up there and the thinking is that she will effectively retire from public life while Charles is King in all but name. William and Kate will elevate their game.
These two are redundant and embarrassing themselves and damaging the institution of the monarchy like Andrew. They need to be retired.

Sooner or later, Meghan will dump Harry after the more obvious it gets that the Royal Family is cutting him off to distance themselves from the roastie trash that Meghan is.
Harry is no good to her when the Royal Family wants nothing to do with him.
And then Harry will go crawling back to the Queen or rather the King and the Royal Family and begging them to let him back in.

Not at all surprised to hear this, and excellent news for the monarchy. The two are a terrible distraction and their lack of class, while expected given the actress's background, is a liability for the monarchy.
They're going to go around begging for money from various individuals (George Clooney, Oprah, etc.) and it will not be surprising at all to see, in future years, news about how they associated with shady individuals, etc.
M hates not being in the spotlight and having Kate steal it from her each and every time. The monarchy will survive just fine, it has survived worse disasters than Harry and Meghan.

William and Kate are already 'elevating their game' and their engagements on behalf of the queen are becoming much more numerous.
Charles is over 70 years old and Camilla is too. Moreover, Camilla has a phobia of flying, so they limit their overseas commitments. William and Kate will be taking on much more, they already have in the past year and a half or so.
It would have been good to have a second young couple to represent the Queen with dignity, but H&M sure ain't the ones, so whatcha gonna do?!?!

They don't like the politics in a Queen or King. Charles got sidelined because of his global warming and love of progressives. We hear Charles is trying to silence his politics to take over. I think William is better fit he hid his politics.
