No, they are rejecting the premise that he "had a bad day." Someone's "honest assessment" that he did doesn't make it fact. That same person's "honest assessment" of the reasons why others disagree with them is also not fact.

This, in a nutshell, is one of the things wrong with journalism today. What you believe as a person should have NO BEARING on what you do as a journalist. Your job is to report the news OBJECTIVELY.
