My point is all these randos on X are not to be trusted. Everybody justifiably craps on the media, but they don't give equal skepticism to these nobodies who confirm their biases.

Comparing this to Katrina (or any other storm) is moronic.

Awfull lot of this disinformation you speak of.
There are many videos that are embedded in the article, so I can't get a link to share them.
Check THE LINK!!!
If your questions are sincere, that is.

True. This was much larger and dumped much more rain. And it is mostly white folks in the mountains.

Considering all the bridges are washed away that's not really surprising.

To get that $750, you have to get a letter from your power company proving you were without power. The tried to do the paperwork, and is rightly pissed.
Also, to get reimbursed for a generator, you have to prove you needed it for medical reasons. As if trying not to dolie isn't enough.
FEMA can lick my unwiped arse.
Got that Mr. FBI man reading this?

A paragraph in the op said most of the rescues are by private persons but we've heard all day that the government is shutting down private rescues. So, some of these blue checks are passing bad info.

If just one hillbilly would say they want to build a chocolate mountain then money would come in.
Seriously though,
I'm sure the death toll is much higher than reported and the damage is worse also. We'll never know because there's too many trolls in the mix. I don't think they'll ever get the help they deserve but the trolls will make it all be make believe to the rest of the Country.

How does that agree with your op...

The vast bulk of the helicopters in the sky are from civilians. Local military bases, both from regular army or air force as from national guard, are told to stand down

Thats not an argument against my post. As I said, there will be more than $750 available . That was my point.

Prior to that, private citizens were saving people in need. They said that the government told them to stop flights, or be arrested. The areas impacted were not restricted air space at the time.
This right here makes me the most angry.

Are you actually inquisitive on the matter or is your purpose here to just spread doubt and regardless of the information provided, you won't believe it? If it's the latter, then you really serve no purpose in this thread.

Like I said, check the videos in the link.
One is of a small helicopter pilot who was rescuing an older couple off a mountain. So, he could only carry 2 passengers at a time, so he left his son there and planned to go back and pick him up. To sum up his story, he was met by the authorities when he landed and was told to cease. He was not even going to be allowed to go back and pick up his son.
He did anyway and that was the end of that.

I am referencing a media report (TV news).
