What a wonderful time for Christians to take a group vacation to Jerusalem... Just pray about it, I am sure God will make it clear.
I was kind of seeing your position yesterday on this issue. After this post, it's clear you deserved the ridicule you received. This mocking is really sad.

I was listening to the Wallstreet Journal radio program this morning and they were asking people in the Gaza Strip, who was to blame for Hamas shooting the latest missiles at Israel after Egypt tried to declare a cease fire. Almost to a person, they said it was Israel's fault! Now these are the same people we are led to believe want peace and are just minding their own business. Well if you want to continually side with terrorist, then don't cry latter when you reap what you sow.
This is a very close minded view point but at least you are consistent. Both sides are bad and blame can be placed on both.

How is it closed minded? If I'm to believe what we are being told on this board that the Palestinians want peace, than prove it. Stop siding with known terrorist groups.

If someone was blowing your neighborhood up to shite and you had nothing to do with it im sure you would blame the people as well.
Both sides are bad and its sucks civilians are in the way but in urban combat its going to happen. Really no reasoning with people who back Israel at all cost.
You would be shocked at the shite they do to spy on and undermine our own military when we deploy or tdy there.

I don't pretend that Israel is lily white and I don't have delusions that our government isn't corrupt
as well. The point is, if a ceasefire is trying to be organized and you want peace, you don't side with the group breaking the ceasefire.

The people want peace not Hamas there is a difference.
We should be not just fighting against radical Islam, but also radical Jews( like the ones who kidnapped the kid in revenge and burned him) and radical Christians etc.

Maybe you are right Rev...
Let's not forget I was mocked for suggesting that prayer isn't needed to see that this is not a good time for a vacation.
And look at this mornings headlines.. another obvious signal the conflict is elevating.
i'll take your admonishment in earnest.
have a great day

Burt is about as dumb as you get on this subject.

If you don't believe in prayer that's fine, but man doesn't always know what's best by observation with is eyes.
Example: guy wakes up, looks out the window and sees its a beautiful sunny day. Guy thinks," great day to play golf." Guy gets killed 15 minutes later in car crash headed to golf course.
We don't always know what's best even when we think it's obvious.

And who goes to the middle east and posts on TD while over there? What a clown we have in Burt

of course I believe in prayer.
I said yesterday that the prayer (should we go or not go) should begin and end seeking God's will not of your will,- which is to proceed with the year long planned vacation.
I would hope someone from the group would say, "alright guys, in light of the recent conflict, I think we should start talking about postponing the trip".
I am all for living by faith and not living in fear...but at the same time, many times, the correct and wise path is clear.
grown people don't need to be told what to do.. but if they are asking me, I'd say, "I think another time makes more sense"

I guess I misunderstood your earlier post because it certainly sounded like mocking prayer?

In truth I was mocking a bit suggesting the necessity of prayer to determine go or not go, when in my view "There is a war going on and you want to go a group vacation right the middle of it?"
Because?
if you are going over there to help someone or save someone etc...then prayer is a good thing
if you are going for pleasure, maybe it's not a good time to test God to keep you safe.
use your wisdom God has given you

People like you are lost causes. Just like your lord and savior Obama, you have no qualms throwing honesty out the window for the sake of your argument.

Hamas cannot even say the word Israel. They and their ilk will never accept a Jewish state. Israel needs to accept a Palestinian state in Gaza and West bank but only with 100% guarantees no terrorism or rockets or reprisals.

Hamas has a legitimate beef. In a previous deal brokered by Egypt, Israel released some members of Hamas, most of whom were being held without charges. After the three Israeli settlers turned up dead, Hamas denied any involvement, but Israel blamed them anyway and went and rounded up all the Hamas members that it had released under the previous deal. Now Hamas is saying that it won't accept any deal unless Israel re-releases its members that it unjustly arrested after the settlers were murdered.
Furthermore, most experts feel that Hamas probably didn't have any involvement with the murders, noting that Hamas has never been shy about claiming responsibility for its actions, the murders took place in the West Bank, not Gaza, and that if Hamas were to do something like this, their modus operandi would have liklely been to kidnap the settlers and use them as a bargaining chips, not shoot them at the scene.
