There you go talking down, great work Rev.
Well you say it was written by men and all men are sinners, which is true. But what possible alternative source could the Bible have come from that you would believe? Books are written by men.

I'm one of the 54% if you polled me today. A year ago, I would have definitely said I was the better guy. Today, after what I've witnessed from charities and organizations that I've given to in past send out emails calling me a racist for being white along with many other things, I don't care about anyone but my family and a few friends.

That explains a lot of the entitlement mentality that seems to be so prevalent.

The hate is made up by the media

The half that think they are the best people they know are definitely not the best people they know.
Furthermore, there's a very good chance they're some of the shittiest people they know. You only work hard to be a better person every day when you understand you're fundamentally a pretty shitty person and you have a long way to go to live up to the same standard you subconsciously hold for other people.

Great question. I could ask you, why would you believe a book written by sinners and liars as it's source? Ima fan of both fiction and non-fiction and can differentiate between the two.

I hear people say this all the time. So naive. There is more evil in this world than they could possibly imagine.
Keep grazing people.

Because since all men are sinners, there would be no other alternative.
Why must it be assumed that a sinful man isn't capable of writing God’s truth under the influence of the Holy Spirit?
Scientist are also sinners, but it doesn’t prevent them from writing things that are true.

It would shock the senses if we knew everything that went on in secret

Well, there's 'the masses' and there's 'my friends.'
If you hang out at the DMV for a few hours you will become convinced that you're the best person ever.
But people choose friends who are like themselves and if you can't think of one of your friends who is better than you then you need to upgrade who you hang out with.

The belief that man is basically good is an anti-biblical lie and is the root of many misconceptions.
Man is inherently both good and bad, and chooses which side of themselves to be. Sometimes one or the other, sometimes both, sometimes back and forth.
I do not think I'm the best person I know. Far from it. I'm guilty of sometimes being self centered and having situational apathy toward some people in some circumstances. I rarely find any compassion for people facing ramifications for doing something stupid. I have no patience for know-it-all's and dumbassed. I deliberately do my absolute best to avoid interactions with metrosexual men and any male who wears skinny jeans. I'm a cynical old man at 42 years of age.

Did the hand of god not write the 10 commandments?

Are all clergy influenced by the holy spirit?

Bad example here, science at it's essence is based on evidence driven by systematic methodology.
I do believe that men of science can believe in a god.
I don't understand it.
Good discussion and I'm better for it.
