I agree. We need to get rid of the alcohol lobby. And the tobacco lobby. And the sugar lobby. And the pharma lobby.

After all... If you're goal is saving lives, those lobbies are the direct cause of MULTIPLE times more deaths than guns each year.

But something tells me you aren't anti-alcohol. Or anti tobacco. Or anti sugar. Or anti high fructose corn syrup.

You missed the post where I explained to you why asking for my analysis on a document intended as a starting point for research questions was ignorant.

Maybe go study that one a bit.

No I didn't. I even replied to it.

Did you add it?

Quick. What's the racial and socioeconomic makeup of Japan and Australia.

What metrics do you propose we use to weight responses to account for the inherent political bias of this board?

What about response rate - how do we filter out alters/duplicates?

Let me know when you've got that figured out, Mr. Engineer.

And yet you're still unwilling to have a discussion on it?

Don't you have a "CDC Study" to show your arse on again?

You can wait if you like, but that post I referenced (that you even said you responded to, but clearly didn't read) laid out pretty clearly my thoughts on the matter.

If you have comments on a "study" you obviously neither read nor comprehended, sure let's hear you frick up some more.

So you ready to go after sugar/tobacco/alcohol/hfcs and traveling over the speed of 25mph yet?

You've stated your opinions are rooted in saving lives. So why don't you want to save 5-6x more lives via going after alcohol, tobacco, hfcs, and fast transportation?

Why do you refuse to acknowledge the elephants in the room that are the top causes of death in America?

The islands? You say Chicago gun violence occurs despite their laws because neighboring states have relaxed laws. You cite two island countries as examples of gun laws working. Are you saying we need to isolate ourselves with some sort of barrier? Like a wall, perhaps?

We regulate all of those things, save for sugar. We allow the CDC to study all of them, including sugar. When we find something that works to reduce prevalence of those things, we usually work to get them implemented.

Big tobacco was hard, and as pernicious as the NRA, but they went down eventually.
