Nah, that was your idea.

that post I referenced (that you even said you responded to, but clearly didn't read) laid out pretty clearly my thoughts on the matter.

Link?

Maybe I missed one.

If you have comments on a "study" you obviously neither read nor comprehended, sure let's hear you frick up some more.

Why "study?"

Ask BamaAtl about purchasing and registering a vehicle, and being licensed to drive it.

That was fun.

Find it in this thread (or the other one). Just a page ago you ASSURED me that you not only read it but you responded to it.

Why "study?"

Because of what the word implies and because of what the CDC "study" wasn't. If you knew more, you'd get it.

Of course they are, however laxly.

His point was that we're doing nothing to prevent those deaths, when the opposite is obviously true.

Then why did you refer to it as a study?

Yeah, I'm sure we're all shocked that 5 people are on the side of the NRA on this board after a mass shooting.

Oh I know. I just find it astonishing that he wants to consistently guns that are attributed to roughly 13k deaths a year(not including suicide)

Alcohol deaths last year -
Heart disease (shite diet) - 600,000
Lung disease (tobacco) -150,000
Diabetes(diet) -75,000
Kidneys(alcohol)- 50,000

And that's low end and not including accidents or wrecks etc.

So why are you so focused on 13k when just banning tobacco will save 100x that many EACH YEAR.

I don't like the NRA. I think they're weak on the Second Amendment.

Try again.

Big tobacco was hard, and as pernicious as the NRA, but they went down eventually.

Big tobacco STILL CAUSES 100 TIMES AS MANY DEATHS ARE FIREARMS.

And gone down? What? Tobacco is EVERY WHERE.

Only because you can't seem to keep straight what you swore you remembered and responded to. Let's pick this up in the morning, when your faculties are back to full, yeah?

quote:

Then why did you refer to it as a study?

Shorthand. "Committee report identifying the most beneficial areas to direct potential research funding" is fricking long. But when you start asking for analysis, you're treating a report like some peer-reviewed publication that has conclusions of its own. This didn't have any conclusions, save for "more research should be conducted on xyz and here are the existing results of xyz which show more research is needed".

Took his sweet arse time to let 26 people die before he bothered to be a good guy with a gun.

And the shooter took his own life, per the Sheriffs.
